I don't quite know where my head's at, I could kill for a ciggie. I'm vaping like mad... last night I went to the pub about 5:30pm and got pretty wrecked; God knows how many single-malts and jugs of beer (in New Zealand we have "jugs" of beer, a litre). I don't remember much of what happenned after jug number 5. Or walking home.

One thing though, I DIDN'T SMOKE A CIGARETTE!!! I vaped like you wouldn't believe when I got home, and I was doing it *in* the pub too (no one complained, not that I cared). I was pretty ....... Ooops. :) But I *didn't* smoke a cigarette. I reckon I vaped over 10ml just last evening alone.

I have to say though, I really wanted a smoke, and I still do, as I type with my hangover, I really could kill for a cigarette. I keep telling myself, "I don't smoke" - but I dunno how much that's psychologically helping me.

Been smoking quite heavily since before I was 20, I'm 51 now. This is the forth serious go at giving up - in this case, swapping really. This is my best shot, and I'm about to lose I feel.

If you have any words of encouragement, or advice, fire away.

Hi fellow Kiwi...hang in there mate. One hour at a time eh.
I'm sure the higher nic will make a difference to you! Such a pain that we can't just buy nic here, hope it arrives quick.
BTW I smoked for 40years, tried every thing to quit numerous times and failed every time but this vapeing has worked for me and it will for you, good luck.

I smoked 30 cigs a day (or more) for 36 plus years plus my parents both smoked heavily (5+ PAD - it was the 60's and doctors still recommended smoking for stress relief, oh, and cigs were 30 cents a pack)

Tried a nasty cigalike from Wally World and never smoked another analog after that

of course I did do a lot of upgrading during the 1st two months

but am now at consistent $8.42 per month for vaping (the consumables ie: juice and atomizer heads) excluding when I feel the need, the need to buy a new mod, tank or whatever (say this last in the style of Top Gun)

I purchased a Tesla and finding it absolutely awesome. Got a Kanger Pro II, 2 x DCT's and my fav for at home, the mighty Cobra which I got right with the SS foil and kanthal resistance wire first time round! Love it, and refilled it after a wash yesterday with some Vape Dudes Mocha Java Drizzle. Running the Cobra @ 10.5W.

Still searching for those awesome flavours that give a big hit too. Ten pack sampler arrived yesterday - so having fun with those - think I should get a dripper atty to make testing out flavours easy.

Thank you again to you respondents. I really love this forum, ECF is awesome, not just for support but a great info resource too. Cheers to all. D.

Listen to Mrs C. It's not about how many you smoke, it's about how many you don't smoke.

There are many people that don't quit cold turkey but they've cut down drastically. Please understand that you won't fail until you give up...and falling down is just an opportunity to pick yourself up.

Fight the good fight and do the best you can. Eventually it gets easier, I promise!

Also the transition can be harder for some than other's. If you do break down and "sneak a half of a stinky" it's ok. We only count the ones you don't smoke :vapor:

Couldn't agree more.
It won't be the end of the world if you do have a stinky and if you do it sure than heck doesn't mean you won't succeed with vaping.
The offer still stands...more than happy to fastpost you some of my 24nic, but I relly do need to know ASAP as have to go out soon.
Good luck there and not too much of this tonight:toast: LOL.

Hang in there my friend! It gets better after awhile. Smoked for 15 years and that all ended 3 months ago when I started vaping! I started with the cheap old crap and for awhile I really wanted to smoke an analog. Once I got my zmax though that all changed I love vaping and just the smell of a gross analog makes me wonder, how did I ever get addicted to those nasty things. Hang in there it gets easy after time, and once you get a nice vv/vw mod and some fun RBA's a few tanks whatever route you end up going, its fun to tinker and try out the million and a half flavors. Stick in there, for me it was hard at first, but with cigs by me going for upwards of 8-10 bucks. Vaping is cheaper too!!

Best of luck!!

Do you know how far away your order is?
Where abouts are you? Just thinking I could FASTPOST you some 24mg nic today.

Cheers mate, thanks heaps for the offer. My order is here in NZ, so should be here today... or I suppose it'll have to be Monday :(

I'm in Otautahi BTW (ChCh).
Cheers, Duncan.

it will get easier; i started with 24mg juice and i vaped it up since i was new to it..

man did i ever feel crispy! holy hell did that overload me with nicotine lol. BUT, you might need that level of juice for a bit.

my second order of stuff was 18mg, third was 12mg stuff...thats about what im at more or less currently. i do use some of the stronger juices to 1) get rid of em and 2) get a dose of nicotine if i want it.

ive had cravings since then, sure...but i go and vape my head off. thats why you make sure to get a few different juices and at least 15ml or maybe 30 of some 24mg stuff, in case you need it or need to spike a lower nic juice you like with it, just...cuz you can.

it gets easier, and breaking a habit thats lasted so long, well..its going to take a little time. so be patient. and yes, getting drunk and having a cig, well those can go hand in hand, i know ive done that plenty of times. but when i started vaping recently, well..the urge to use tobacco really diminished. it gets easier over time.

maybe there is someone there in kiwiland that can drop off some strong juice for ya :p (hey, never know till you ask)

i do seriously suggest making sure your gear is in good working order; good tanks/clearos/dripping atty - whatever you use it needs to be able to deliver some big clouds of vapor.

second is make sure you find good juices you like, later you can worry about DIY stuff so you have a good supply and are enjoying what you have. i think i have about 12 different juices around now...no, wait..lemme count...no, its 15. i tend to like the fruity or dessert flavors, sweet stuff to vape is great.

also dont forget you have a massive forum of folks here who know exactly what you are going through. and folks are on this thing 24 hours a day.

It sure is fun. Being an IT support specialist, tinkering is my game. Just loving the Cobra - just cleaned it out and propaned the mesh and wire (still running the first wire) ten minutes ago - got some Strawberry Fields in it now. Cheers, Duncan.
