My eGo-C variable voltage kit and assortment of cartridges came on Friday, and I have been clean since except for a puff from the wife's analog in bed, which made me go get my vape...

But I have a couple questions:

1. Using a Visions Extreme 3.5ml low-resistance carto on the variable voltage batteries on medium (3.7V?) setting, sometimes as I'm using it, it suddenly stops heating, blinks the led ring a couple times, and sets itself to low voltage. Is this the battery detecting high draw and stepping down? How can I prevent this behaviour?

2. Is there a different tip that will fit on those cartos? The multi-chamber whistle tip seems to end up with juice in it a lot, and I don't know how to clean them.

3. The 510 drip tips I bought don't fit my ego-C at all (or I don't know how to connect them). How can I make sure I get drip tips that fit my system?

4. A few times on those cartos I end up with gurgling that didn't seem to be in the tip. Does that mean I flooded it? I've tried burning it a bit, and blowing into it... what's the best way to clear that?

5. I doubt I'll be using them much, but the default eGo-C tanks seem to have very low airflow... can I modify them to allow more air through?

Okay, that's more than a couple questions. Thanks for your help though :p

Ok I'm fairly new as well but from what I've read so far
-You don't want LR atomizers / cartomizers on a variable voltage device. Your trying to push too much power through. It automaticly set to lower voltage so not to damage your device.
-Not all 510 cartomizers / atomizers work on the ego
-If you are looking for a good cartomizers not too leak. Try the vision clearomizer. I tryied the ego c atomizer on my set up. Wasn't impressed, and it leaks. The vision clearomizers are better in my mind. You still get a few drops now and then, but not like the ego c atomizers. I've been using the same clearomizer for the past week. I broke 2 so far. So be carful when keeping them in your pocket.
- If you get gargling in your cartos blow on the mouth end into a paper towel. Then give it another try.

I'm sure their will be other responses to your question but I hope this helps.

I dont have an ego but I have bought a lot of vision stuff. IMHO I would stay away from vision stuff. Its almost like they never try things before the sell them. You get version 5 and it still sucks. If they do test I am not understanding it otherwise. I am sure many people will not agree but my back up is a Boge carto and they work well for me in a tank. Less topping off and more vape. They hit the same way every time until its time to clean them or toss them. I would not get caught up in all the hype and new things that keep coming out. Its Russian roulette IMHO.

I would get a nice carto tank, some caro's, and a punch and try what you want after that but buyer beware its not like buying a pack and getting the same thing every time. But I hold to my previous statement. vision is weak. They try I will give them that. They just lack big time in Q&R, and will leave you feeling ripped off more then they make you feel happy.

How low is low? Your PV has a current limit. If the amp drain exceeds this limit it will reset itself. To find out how many amps you're drawing, divide the voltage by the ohms. If you are on 3.7V using a 1.5ohm carto, you're drawing 3.7/1.5=2.47 amps. That may be more than it can handle. Not all variable or selectable voltage PVs have a limit that low. Some have a 3.2 or 3.5 amp limit. In that case, you can use low resistance cartomizers. I'm not sure whether you have a true variable voltage, i.e. a Twist, or one of the selectable voltage units with 3 voltage selections. In either case, the current limit is probably 2.5amps, as that is common. You need to use standard resistance, or something in the 2.5-3ohm range.

2. Is there a different tip that will fit on those cartos? The multi-chamber whistle tip seems to end up with juice in it a lot, and I don't know how to clean them.
Nope. That's specially designed for those cartos. You might try to soak them for 1/2 hour in very hot water and blow them out.

3. The 510 drip tips I bought don't fit my ego-C at all (or I don't know how to connect them). How can I make sure I get drip tips that fit my system?
The eGo-C has special cartridges they refer to as "tanks" to avoid the bad reputation cartridges have. They are not a standard size and the atomizer was not intended for direct dripping. My advice is to take all that fussy junk off and use standard eGo or 510 accessories. Get 510 atomizers, either standard or specially made for dripping and use your drip tip with those. Most people end up getting sick and tired of the drama associated with the eGo-C and eGo-T "tank" systems and ditch them in favor of CE4 clearomizers or cartomizers. You might as well go ahead and get it over with and save yourself a lot of frustration.

4. A few times on those cartos I end up with gurgling that didn't seem to be in the tip. Does that mean I flooded it? I've tried burning it a bit, and blowing into it... what's the best way to clear that?
Yes, it's flooded. Just take it off and blow through the mouthpiece. Put a paper towel under the battery end to catch the juice that blows out. It's a common thing. After you fill one, make it routine to blow the excess out this way.

5. I doubt I'll be using them much, but the default eGo-C tanks seem to have very low airflow... can I modify them to allow more air through?
Place them on the ground and crush them with the heel of your boot. Remove the cone and atomizer and replace them with a juice delivery system that actually works. It will be painful at first, but you will thank me in the morning.

Okay, that's more than a couple questions. Thanks for your help though :p
You're welcome.

I haven't tried the Boge cartos yet. The ones I have tried it seems to have a different taste to it, and I don't get the vapor I get out of the Visions. Although it might be that particular company that made that carto. I've only been vaping for 3 weeks I guess so I'm still learning. Trying new things. I'm using the volt x2.

You will naturally get a different taste out of Boge carto. Boges are always consistent. They always taste like Boges. It's the effect of the filler. That's why clearomizers were invented in the first place. Some Vision stuff can be inconsistent and quirky. If you find something that works well for you, there's no comparison. They blow Boge out of the water.

I've been using Fluxomizers for the last 2 months. I've has zero problems with them, they don't leak, they don't require tweaking and not one of them has burned out yet. OTOH, I have other clearomizers that were terrible and I almost gave up on them. But I'm glad I didn't because the Fluxomizers are only second to dripping for taste and vapor production.

Not so sure about the fluxo. I have a 5 pack and they all taste like plastic. Otherwise they are good. If u are stuck on vision then the best vape I ever had with that name on it was the VS3. Vision Maz Tank (Stone V3) - DiscountVapers.com
Just watch what juice you put in it cause the tank will crack if your not careful. Here is a YT clip of me using one. loads of vapor and I used a 6ml syringe to make a replacement tank. The tank for the ViVi Nova fits also. They have them in metal but no window. New Products : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Funning Around With The Vision Stone 3 - YouTube

Not sure what else I can honestly recommend for a ego style battery unless u want some huge accessory on top of the battery. I went from a mini to a Provari.

Okay, that makes sense... I have the selectable 3.2/3.7/4.2V batteries, and no problem with the Stardust LR (~2.3 Ohm) @3.7V. Although the Visions Extreme 3.5ml LR I have is nominally 1.8 Ohm min, I got out the multimeter and mine measures 1.5 Ohm, so it is iffy at 2.46A. Thanks... I should probably stick to the 3.2V setting on LRs or better yet, just get SR clearos.

Nope. That's specially designed for those cartos. You might try to soak them for 1/2 hour in very hot water and blow them out.

Okay, that works... even just a few dunks in near-boiling water then blowing them out seems to be sufficient. Thanks x2!

Yep, I tried to head that way to start, but these 3.5ml visions clearos are fiddly, I don't think I'd get them again. Also learned that I don't really like whistle tips. The stardust 2.5 I got is less messy at least, and more reliable. I'll keep trying different ones. The only thing I've been using the ego-C default tanks for is taste-testing the juices I got.. easy to check them out with just a very small amount at a time.

Place them on the ground and crush them with the heel of your boot. Remove the cone and atomizer and replace them with a juice delivery system that actually works. It will be painful at first, but you will thank me in the morning.

Lol, I'm fine with that :) I already have seen the difference between "it works... i guess" and "it works much better!" with the small selection of clearos I ordered to start.

What a lot I've learned in a week... thanks to you and all ECF!
