I've been using the kick in my p18 for a few months now and for the past couple weeks I've had some problems. My issue is that in order to get this configuration to fire, it requires an extreme amount of pressure on the p18 button. When I say extreme, I mean two hand, full force. This really renders the kick as useless. Anyone else had this happen? Any fixes? Thanks.

have you tried to clean the negative and positive contacts on the Kick?

easiest way without damaging is using a pencil eraser to polish the copper contact points.

Do you have a P+ with rhodium contacts? or the older style Precise with Copper ?

if you have the P+ then DON'T touch those as it is not required or recommended, but if you have the older style precise, give it the same treatment.

that SHOULD solve your issues, 3 months is enough time for the copper to build up an oxidized layer, that can hinder the performance of your Kick.

Knucks,

If you haven't tried this, give it a shot.

Spread a little bit of noalox right where my finger is pointing to :

Rotate the button once inside the shoehorn to spread the noalox evenly and then see if it vapes a little better.

I think I'm going to try that.
Still, after all this time and experience, I'm disappointed with how squirrely the Kick can be in my otherwise bullet-proof PrecisePluses.

First thing is we need to isolate the problem.

1. First remove the Kick and make sure the Precise or PrecisePlus works good in normal mode with no Kick (is it a Precise or PrecisePlus?)

2. If it is working good without the Kick in it, you can isolate the problem to the Kick.

3. Clean the kick top and bottom, it is made of brass and corrodes. Use some fine (400 grit or higher) sandpaper and touch up both the top and bottom and also touch up the side ground. You can put a dab of petroleum based anti corrosion on the contacts of the Kick (noalox or the like)

4. Where the Kick ground touches the inside of the unit, i'd recommend hitting with the 400 grit too.

5. Reinstall Kick, make sure there is no play up and down and retry.

6. If it isn't working, you may have a defective kick. They came with a 90 day warranty so i don't know your actual purchase date, so it may still be under warranty. Shoot me a PM and i can give you the warranty contact info if you feel it may be defective.
