I just wanted to share with people who understand what it's like!! I've never been able to quit cold turkey for more than 2 days before I found myself driving up the street to the gas station or head shop. And lets just say for those 2 days I was definitely not pleasant to be around. The problem was that I really didn't want to stop smoking so I wasn't committed. I'd come to accept that I'd always be a smoker. I enjoyed it...it relaxed me & yes we all know the risks of smoking. That was until 2 totally separate good friends of mine shared their success with me through the use of ecigs. I started doing research but wasn't totally sold. I was worried that it wouldn't work & the money I would've used to buy a starter kit could've gone to maintaining my analogs. Then the weekend of thanksgiving I got news that one of my moms good friends had passed away at the age of 55 from lung cancer! That was it! I went on the web & ordered my starter kit! It only took me five days to stop with the stinkies. I'd had 2 packs left when it arrived....I was a pack or more a day smoker & it took me 5 days to smoke those two packs!! Ok...I was impressed!! When I was done with those I just refused to buy anymore & I haven't looked back since!!! Yes...in the quest to now get a VV mod & find the right juice I've spent more than double what I normally would in the stinkies but its totally worth it!!

My cat & dog are also grateful! I've noticed way less sneezing from both of them! And I'm sure they appreciate that they both smell good now too!!

I just want to thank the entire ECF community for creating such a wonderful supportive atmosphere for newbies like myself!!! Thanks for sharing your experiences & answering any questions I've had in lightening speed! BTW...I'm sure I'll have more soon lol! Really, I couldn't have made it this far without all of the information & the help from members of this community!!
THANK YOU ALL!!! :toast:

Now any tips you have on getting the stinky smoke smell out of my couches are welcome! LOL

Congratulations  I definitely know how you feel. It is 6 weeks ago today since I had my last cigarette and I am still amazed that I am not smoking. In my case I didn't plan to quit- I loved smoking and figured after 46 years the best I could do was cut down.

I actually ended up quiting 3 weeks after of vaping - once I got my 2 eGo Twists and some better juice. I was over a PAD and only smoked a pack a week for the first 3 weeks and then found that I was not even enjoying the few a day I was smoking. I still have 5 packs in the freezer - mainly because I still can't believe this is working.

I agree that the support on ECF is great :thumb: Sorry no tips on getting the smell out of your couches.

Super congrats to you Chimney. Glad someone came along to help you with trying to get the smell out of your couch as I did not know either, but thought Fabreeze would help some.

Do NOT let the money aspect get you down. When you first start, you'll probably find that you ARE spending more money, but that will taper off when you find the perfect juice and you've tried some of the other devices out there. Just remember the reason for doing it is our health!

This is an exciting time for you. Honest! 3 weeks in without a real cigy? The hard part is over. I survived the 3 days and then the 3 weeks and next month, it will be 3 years! YOU CAN DO THIS! Happy for u :D

ps. Paulette is correct. Once you find your HAPPY kit, you will really start to save. Just try not to turn vaping into a hobby ;-) I started to get like that but I'm Okay now. I think... LOL

Congrats! 3 weeks today for me too. The other times I tried to quit I went through the Psycho/lunatic phase, but not with vaping. It's awesome!!!!

Congrats to you as well on your 3 weeks! I know it seems like a weird amount of time to celebrate but if you were like me I didn't think I'd make it through a week! It's funny that I don't even think about the stinkies!!

Congrats on being 6 weeks stinkie free! My initial thoughts were very much like yours! I was hoping it would help me cut down but when I was down to 2 or 3 a day I knew I could do it!! Lets all pat ourselves on the back! I think it's a huge accomplishment!! Got a twist about a week ago to upgrade my ego-t kit & test out VV...it's awesome!!

Wow! 3 years!!! Congrats!! Can't wait until I get there! Don't get me wrong I'm not loaded with cash but it doesn't bother me too much because I know I'm doing something great for myself! It's definitely worth it! Ill try not to become too obsessed. I find myself reading posts about some of the different mods like the Vamo, zmax, & the Provari. What type of ecig did you settle into?

Hope you're not kicked out of Winston-Salem, NC for this post. :)

Lol! Sounds like you know about all of cigarette production that goes on here. It's funny...my newports were produced 20 mins up the road in Greensboro. So far I'm not banned from the city...not yet anyway! Ill keep ya posted!

Keep the smell in your sofa- it'll remind you why you don't want to go back to the stinkies ;-) Can you believe that that very same smell used to cling to us?! I've just unloaded all the laundry I did at my mum's house (i'm a scummy student!) and now my room STINKS of cigarette smoke! I'm considering doing ALL of my laundry again now I'm back at uni, just to get rid of that foul, foul smell! This is the first time in my entire life that I've understood this smell as my mum smoked around me when I was little and then I started smoking... This is why I love vaping, we all get to discover the world anew!x

Thanks ;-) Beleive it or not (mini fans are few and far around here lol) but I have been using the ePuffer Colibri and Nano as my main for the past 2 years. I tried this and that but I like and need the real cig size to feel like I am still smoking. lol

Speaking of stink. OMG. I went to the food market today and this girl was in the same isle as me. I could smell a mile away she was a smoker. Of course I did not say anything but I, yikes!!, I use to smell like that too?!? I would need to stock up on my Victoria Secret perfume LOL Thankfully, we never smoked in the house. We always went out side.
