A few weeks ago, my first or second time posting I started a thread titled "7 days" I thought I would keep that going here now that I am 30 days in.

I have had exactly 0 cigarettes in 30 days, the longest run cigarette free since I was 16 years old (34 now)
In 30 days I went from an Njoy to a V2, to a 650 ego, to a 1100 ego twist with a pro tank mini, to now an MVP running 1 of 2 clear 30's I have. I am very happy with my hardware setup as it is and may just add another iclear for backup, and after the new year perhaps a second MVP (heck they are cheap why not right).

The only issue I have had at all is with pro tank coils on my pro tank mini (i think they just aren't for me) and juice selection. I ordered a bunch of juice from MBV but hopefully the week it steeped just wasn't enough and it will get better later.
I have found some sour apple stuff called "Pucker Up Granny" made by Diamond Vapor that my local B&M carries and it is working for me so far even though I wish the flavor were a little more pronounced.

The only negative health thing I noticed, was that in the second week while fighting a cold (vaping heavy the whole time) I got several nosebleeds (they have gone away)

Positive Health Changes I have noticed:

-Have not had Heartburn for 30 days (previously had HB every 2 to 3 days if not more)
-Have had no pounding chest that I used to notice sometimes at bedtime.
-My wife has noticed that I don't stink like tobacco anymore (i used to go out of my way to make it so she would not smell tobacco on me, but you know there is so many times you can brush your teeth)
-Have not had a headache for 30 days (i used to get day ending migraine headaches twice a week)
-Stamina is significantly increased, this is something my wife has noticed for sure if you get my drift.
-Sinuses are clear. I used to blow my nose in morning and it looked like something from a horror movie. The last 2 days I haven't had the need to even blow my nose in the morning.
-I can't say I haven't coughed because like I stated I had a cold the second week. But the only time I have coughed since was once when my pro-tank mini flooded and I sucked up some juice (if you haven't done this yet I suggest to try to avoid it)

And a big plus I will add in here that is not physically health related per se but it should be mentioned:
I just plain feel better. I read these forums and talk to the friendly people I have met at Voltage Vapin (local B&M) and I feel part of a new community that is helping me quit smoking as well as I feel like I can contribute to help others quit as well.

Thanks
-Will

Glad to hear that vaping is improving your life so much! Also glad to hear that you like your MVP! Mine is great and just works quite the treat. Hopefully you will find some juices that you like! It has taken me some time to find a few that I like, however, my search continues. What exactly about the Protank heads isn't working for you. There are a few tweaks that you can make for them that makes them work really well depending on the pg/vg ratio of your juice. I'd love to help out if I can. :D

Thats just it RubyRoo, I know there are things I can do to my pro tank coils to make them work better for me, but I don't have time for that really. I just want a quality vape out of the box. My pro tank stuff seemed to taste burnt to me very quickly (every 2 or 3 fills) this was on a standard ego in pro tank mini and I have been vaping a bunch so keeping the vape quality high was quickly becoming more work than I wanted to put into it.
I am very happy with both my standard iclear 30 and my 30s though, I can fill them up with 3mils 4 or 5 times before I feel the need to clean anything out.
I think the pro tank style setup is quality gear don't get me wrong, I just don't think it is right for me. If I want to get into something that you rebuild and work on I think i will go with a Kayfun style unit later on when I have the other aspects of my vaping ironed out (most notably when I find some juices I really like)

Thanks for the responses, you guys are great

Sounds good Catuela! Once you've found the right juice, a Kayfun is a great investment and you can use them easily on the MVP if you build a high enough resistance coil. I freaking love both of mine (mini and KFL+) and they really produce the best vape ever. Well worth the money! Cheers and Happy Vaping to you!

Congrats on 30 days! Feels great, doesn't it? I have around the same. Started with a generic, 650 mAh, variable volt, passthrough that came in a blister pack with a plastic, bottom coil clearo that took Evod coils. It cost $15. My mother gave it to me after my grandmothers funeral. She died of lung cancer that spread to her brain. Needless to say, I had to promise to try it at least. When I got home that night, I started vaping. While I still smoked maybe one a day the first couple of days, they started tasting really nasty. Finally went a couple days without a cigarett, got one from hubby (he was waiting for his kit to come in, I ordered him one since that one a day was coming from him), and I couldn't finish it. Tasted like burning rubber. Haven't looked back since.

Since then, I've purchased a couple of iClear 16's, 3 Mini Protank II's (hubby's favorite clearo) an iTaste VV v3, and an MVP 2 which came with an iClear 30. Oh, and just got an iClear 30b! The iClear clearos are my favorite. If only they came in glass, then I'd let hubby have the third mini Protank. He's got two. He couldn't quit all the way with the original, $15 set, so he just started using my VV v3 so much he essentially stole it. He stole the first mini Protank I bought the same way. There are officially no more cigs in the house now though, so I can't complain too much!

Wow... I mean WOW!!! That's an amazing testimonial you have there, Congrats!
You seriously need to copy-paste your Health Changes to your Congressmen/Representatives and tell them how your life has changed since the switch!

I'm sure you have heard and read about the FDA pending regulations coming up and your testimonial, and others like you should tell your story BEFORE our right to vape as we know it is taken from us.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...op-fda-giving-e-cig-industry-big-tobacco.html

I too have very similar results as you, I haven't had a cough, no racing/pounding heartbeat, even while laying in bed, etc...
The headaches, well... lets just say I have a 3yr. old boy and a 13yr. old step-daughter so the headaches are a routine part of my life these days... ;)

Seriously though, your story should be heard! They've heard mine!

so whaddaya say?

Great job on your transition from tobacco to vaping. Sounds like you have found the equipment that works for you at the present time. If you do like most vapers your equipment will evolve as you go forward in time. Sounds like you are already thinking that way by saying you may try a Kayfun Lite in the future.
I can say I started just like you with the equipment and progressed with equipment to now having one real Kayfun lite and two Kayfun lite clones and three Protank2's that I use. All my other tanks have been retired now.

I have never felt the need to contact a Government representative until this very moment, Mr. Forbes just got this in his inbox, tell me what you think.

Congressman Forbes,
I have never felt the need to contact my Government Representative until today.
A short background on me is that like many Virginians I began using tobacco at a very early age and smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for 17 years. I recently quit smoking cigarettes with the help of a very effective product, the personal vaporizer, often referred to as an electronic cigarette.
Recently it has come to my attention that the FDA has stated its intent to propose (by the end of October) the “deeming” regulation to apply Chapter IX of the 2009 Tobacco Control Act (TCA) to all e-cigarettes (e-cigs), and to propose additional regulations for e-cigs.
I ask for you review the current true scientific information available on this topic so that you are able to make a sound judgement on the use of these devices.
I can tell you personally that since I began using a personal vaporizer I have noticed dramatic health improvement in my body, namely I no longer suffer from heartburn, headaches, or pounding chest. I no longer expose my family and friends to harmful second smoke.
The personal vaporizer industry has quickly grown and is now a billion dollar industry worldwide. The effects of this industry are already felt in our district where in Chester we have no less than 2 small businesses dedicated to these products. These are retail locations that only sell Personal Vaporizer equipment for people who have used these devices to stop smoking tobacco. These locations employ 20-30 residents of our district and I am sure are having financial impact on our local economy.
Again Congressman, all I ask is for you to learn about this topic and hopefully see what millions worldwide have already seen. This allows those who are addicted to nicotine, continue to receive nicotine in a matter that is extremely less hazardous to their wellbeing than tobacco, but retains much of the sensory feeling of smoking, making much more effective than older styles of Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
Thank You

Sounds good, Catuela, except that I worry about whether the good congressman will read the accurate or inaccurate stuff to learn about the topic.... Anyway, congrats on quitting the smokes & best of luck to you!! (One side effect I've noticed in the positive column was how great I've felt emotionally/mentally since leaving smoking behind. Being a slave to that addiction was demoralizing to me! I've truly been set free!)

Outstanding! You rock!
I do worry as freeatlast mentions, I only hope these "Representatives of the people" do actually start making decisions based on facts and not on junk science... we can only try our best to convince those who make the decisions to do the right thing one success story at a time.

although I would like to see a flood of success stories crash upon them...

Just heard back from Congressman Forbes:

As you know, electronic cigarettes, known as e-cigarettes, are becoming more and more widely used. From 2010 to 2011, adult use of e-cigarettes nearly doubled to six percent of all adults and over 21 percent of current smokers. Currently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate e-cigarettes. In July 2009, the FDA issued a press release discouraging the use of electronic cigarettes and repeating previously stated concerns that electronic cigarettes may be marketed to young people and the lack appropriate health warnings.

The FDA initially tried to regulate e-cigarettes as a combined drug/device under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA). Under the FDCA, manufacturers of drug/device combinations must establish they are safe before marketing them. However, in December, 2010, in Sottera, Inc. v. FDA, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit found that e-cigarettes did not qualify as a drug/device combination because their manufacturers were not making any therapeutic claims about them. Therefore, the court determined that e-cigarettes are merely tobacco products subject to FDA’s authority under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (Tobacco Control Act). According to the court, the Tobacco Control Act “gives the FDA broad regulatory authority over tobacco products, for instance, authority to impose restrictions on their sale, and on the advertising and promotion of such products, to regulate the mode of manufacture of tobacco products, and to establish standards for tobacco products.”

While I support efforts to require FDA regulated facilities to conduct product safety hazards analysis, and ensure consumers are aware of potential risks; we should ensure that these systems do not overly burden business with needless regulations and mandates. I will continue to monitor this issue as the FDA moves forward with actions related to e-cigarettes.

We must find sensible solutions to ensure that Americans remain healthy, not burden them with unnecessary regulations.
