OK, I'm not a complete success story (yet), but immediately after starting vaping, I went from .5 PAD to just 1 real cig per day (more on that).

I'm very much viewing these first few weeks as the experimental stage--figuring out how to manage the batteries, testing out lots of eliquids to figure out my personal flavor profile, examining my cravings, etc.

But what about that 1 daily cig? Well, I'm really close to figuring out what to do about that. That 1 is always the last hit of nicotine in the day. There's just something about vaping that seems like all stimulant (for me?), and there's something about that 1 last cig that makes me more ready to sleep. I feel totally wide awake from vaping (which is great bc I totally don't need coffee now), but it is exasperating an already existing insomnia problem.

So I think I'm looking at making a personal "Sleepytime" brew at a much lower nic level (I'm on 18mg across the board right now, and it is totally removing all my classic cravings--i.e., the morning one, the post-meal one, etc.), and possibly w/ WTA (if I can ever get my grubby hands on it). Anyone have any similar experiences or success w/ something like a "Sleepytime" juice, just for the last vape of the day?

Why am I writing this? Well, I've been reading a lot of people talking about "feeling guilty" from "cheating" and whatnot, and I just think rather than feel guilty or like a failure, there's a lot to be learned about what you need--and what will fix your needs--in these early stages.

Anyway, I'm just really optimistic. And I wanted to share that.

And I'm totally procrastinating at work. :)

I have finally been able to kick my night time cig by using a different flavor before bed. I'm on coffee flavors in the morning, sweet tea and fruit in the afternoon. With my insomnia and general sleep issues, that wasn't having the calming effect that I needed and I continued to smoke a cig before bed. I ordered some dessert type juices and that seems to work for me. The nic level is the same (12mg) but just having some gooey butter cake, vanilla, rice krispy treat... something sweet, makes it a treat and relaxes me.

Everyone is different, and I do hope you can eventually kick the habit completely. My own story is that the day I got my first ego battery is the day I quit smoking. When I'm out and smokers see me vaping away, they always ask me if that is an e-cig and if it actually works. I tell them that it certainly does and how it's worked for me. I know there are several people that are seriously considering e-cigs since I've told them about it, so it's very encouraging.

30 days down to 1 is a pretty good effort. I did that for over a year and I managed to get my health back, you know smell after a week and better lung function after a month or two. I understand exactly what you mean by "all-stimulant", as that too was the effect I got when using nicotine alone. I also was one who found it very hard to get away from that last cigarette of the day, as it seemed there was something in it that I needed. After reading some of the WTA threads, I thought I would try some Swedish Snus and haven't looked back. Now smoking dosen't even cross my mind. I also vape at a more comfortable level, down from 3-4ml of 18mg to around 1ml of liquid somewhere in the 6 to 18mg range a day. Sure I use 3 or 4 portions of snus each day however I am comfortable in the safety of the product, going by the extensive studies which have been carried out in Sweden. I would like to try some WTA liquid sometime too, but that is no longer a priority now. I have discovered the joys (relief) of getting the full range of tobacco alkaloids by supplementing my vaping with snus.
