I've been using 306s exclusively for close to 5 months. Specifically, I like the 1.5 ohm Ciscos with a 3.7v battery and the 3.5 ohm Ikenvapes with a 6v setup. My experience has been absolutely stellar. These atties are everything I've been looking for: nice heat, great flavor, great vapor, and reliability.

I've always de-wicked my 306s. In fact, I HAD to de-wick my first 306 because it wouldn't work properly. Yesterday I pulled a new HV 306 out of the drawer and proceeded with the "first use" ritual: blow out as much of the primer as I can and pull the wick. Something different happened this time... the entire wick (including the portion that runs through the heating coils) came out. Normally, this portion of the wick would stay... and I would be able to remove the portion of the wick that lives directly inside/under the bridge. Turns out that I've been doing this by accident and dumb luck for the last few months. Removing this portion of the wick just about ruined the atty!

The vape is drastically different than what I'm used to. Without the wick in the coils, there's nothing left to absorb and hold juice to be vaporized. The atty now relies on juice that pools in the ceramic cup. The atty still works, but it's extremely temperamental and has to stay really wet. It's a pain. This atty will probably end up back in the drawer as a spare.

In the future, I will probably cut the wick directly at the base of the mesh of the bridge, and then remove everything above that... being careful not to pull the important segment of the wick running through the coils.

Cliffnotes: When de-wicking, DONT REMOVE THE PORTION OF THE WICK THAT RUNS THROUGH THE COILS... JUST the portion that lives under/inside the bridge.

If this is old news, I apologize for the new thread... this was a huge discovery for me!
