I started vaping last year and tried a box mod. Loved the box mod idea but the one i bought turned out to be junk (E-lvt). then late last year new ones started coming out and now there are many to choose from. i like to experiment so i decided to buy several different ones from different mfg's. so far i have picked up an istick 30w, a hana clone 30w, a cloupor mini 30w and have on order a sigelei mini 30w and a smy35.
the hana clone is bigger than the others and too bulky to carry around so i will just use it around the house. so far it works well, just hope it lives a while.
Cloupor took a lot of bad raps but i have to say that i am very happy with the mini. Its small size is good and i love the magnetic back cover. magnets are plenty strong. there is a little overhang with 5 ml nautilus tank, but if i was worried about overhang i would probably do something about the size of my gut. the big question now is how long will this thing live. for the price (now about $30) i would be happy with 6 months +. if it makes it that long i will order again.
the istick 30w is great. compact size and long battery life. easy to carry around and works right all the time. i also have a 20w istick it works great also. bought a bending adapter for the 20w and it is really nice to be able to fold this thing up and put it in my shirt pocket. time for recharging the battery seems long to me. so i keep another mod around in case i have to recharge this one during the day
sigelei and smy are supposed to be among the better mfg's. sigelei is using their own chip in the mini. i don't know very much about this chip or that one, i just want to find ones that will last 6 months +. mine has been shipped and should be here any day. so more info latter. same with the smy. don't have it in my hands yet, so more info latter

would love to hear about your experiences with any of these mods. and more info about chips would help also
thx

Can't really tell you about the devices you listed above but, if you haven't looked into one yet, I could recommend the 30W IPV Mini. Don't know much about the chip and all that since my only knowledge on this device is only from watching my cousin use it. It was his first move towards a regulated box mod and I can tell you from just watching him that he loves it. Its small and sleek like the other devices you listed and I would assume the battery life is great since its coming from the same people who made the IPV3. From what my cousin has told me, the Mini puts out great (using an RSST with SS mesh build). If you haven't considered the Mini yet, I'm sure others would recommend looking into this device as well. No harm if you don't either though!
Hope you find the info you're looking for on the other devices!

I just purchased my first box mod and researched most of the models that you mentioned above. I was on the fence between the Cloupor mini, Hana Modz, Ana Box, and the iPV Mini and was about to order the Cloupor until I noticed that Sigelei was about to release a 30 watt mini box of their own. Having had a good experience with my Sigelei V5 after using as my main vape for about a year, the decision making became very clear. I pre-order the Sigelei 30 watt Mini about mid January, received it near the end of January, and I couldn't be happier with it. It came with nice silicone sleeve and has a DC-DC mode that allows it to behave as a mechanical mod by bypassing the chip. As far as chips go, there are a few that can be trusted and they pretty much come in the devices you mentioned above. So, my 30 watt Sigelei has become my main vape and it works great with my Subtank Mini. I absolutely love it!

I have the 100w Sigelei and I really enjoy it. Variable voltage allows me to use an assortment of voltages! I like customizable mods to go with my moods! Maybe tonight I wanna rip hard at like 55W at .2 ohm but this afternoon maybe I wanna pull at 1.5 ohm 15W. It'll give me anything i want! I love that. Plus it feels pretty sturdy like it'll last for a while!
the only thing I have noticed is when i switch from my Subtank mini to my Tugboat drip atomizer, I have to unscrew the pin a few turns to make contact with the pin and the atomizer. Not sure if others have experienced this or if all Box mods can be a fit finicky but since its not too big a deal to do, I am not too worried about it. Was a huge pain trying to figure out why my atomizer wasn't firing the first time i hooked up my tugboat though!!

I like it that you have tried so many different vaps! I have been coming across a lot of people who get one and that's it. That's what they stick with. I personally don't get! There are so many to try and play with, why limit yourself!

Cheers

I have yet to try a digital device myself. Went straight from an ego to a mech, and then onto dripping from there. Would love to have a DNA 40 when the V4S gets cloned though, I think temperature control is the way of the future - No more dry hits, just the right warmth regardless of coil build(s) and this means as much surface area as we'd like.

I just got my ipv mini and am greatly enjoying it. The mod just feels right and balanced holding it, replaceable batteries and the functions are good coming from the Yihi.

However, there are downsides which is the inability to lock the buttons, the ohm accuracy being off +/- 0.1 and the USB being at the bottom. To me, the downsides are minor.

The Sigelie and Hana Modz are great mods too but I personally find them somewhat too square.

I'm now eyeing the SX Mini 'M'. Heh...
