Hello everybody, I am going to give temp control a shot for the 1st time using an rda or an RDTA but before I get going I need to know if I can use either one of the 2 types of SS I am seeing for TC. Does it matter if I use the 316 or the 316L or do I need to use just one of the 2 types? Thanks for the help, Bill

Well it depends on the mod... some are grade specific there are several SS grades. But mist TC modes are setup for 316L. .. if mod has TFR or TCR you can get better accuracy from Other SS grades. Even if the mod is 316L specific it will regulate fine but numbers won't be accurate with say 404 321 or 430. But the difference between 316 and 316L is very minor.

Temco SS316L has been my recoiling wire for a couple of years or more. I haven't vaped Kanthal since I started with SS. It's just too easy to have all atomizers coiled the same and ready for power mode or TC mode.

As 93gc40 said, most mods are calibrated for the resistance and temperature slope of SS316L, so that's what yields the most accurate vaping temps.
