In my experience twisted is between the next two sizes. Ie twisted 32 is closer to 30 than 28. So to answer twisted 28 will get you close to 26 but not exactly there. There are a few factors that make it hard to say exactly. The tightness of the twist plays a huge part. Maybe 2 strands of 28 and a strand of 32!

Do you mean size comparison or ohms per inch?

Well now that you say that I guess both really, although I was meaning thickness. Really just experimenting with guages to find what I like, what fits in holes, without having to buy additional sizes I might never use much of. My b+m doesnt ever have odd or low guage numbers, and I guess I'm being cheap which is funny cuz a roll shipped cost is like a pack of ciggs, lol yeah.

Deff buy your kanthal direct from temco(amazon or ebay, I find better prices via amazon) going that route, 25$ gets you a lot.....like 5+ years worth of kanthal. On size and ohms per foot.. really depends on twist. I can honestly say twisting wires gives me a different ohm/ inch reading every time. Is it a big difference, no. But like all things, there is a technique to drill twisting to get ohms consistant... also worth mentioning, your before firing ohm reading will rise after firing and, if you do so( contact coils) pinching will also raise ohm by a .1 or .15

Yeah I got my 32 30 28 from temco ebay page. Before buying a spool I like to try it out so I grab 5 feet for 99 cents locally. I am using triple twisted 32 in my dual coil dripper now and love it, it does taste slightly different than single 28 which is what it looks like thickness wise at least. Then again being pretty fresh off ciggs basically everything Ive wicked properly with cotton tastes great. I want to try something like 26 because I'm having to wrap a million wraps to get dual coils to read .9-1.1 which is where I'm the most comfortable vaping. I like my micro coils to be nice and thin ID but I'm having to use 3/32 just to not have the coils hanging off the base. Havnt tried ribbon wire yet either, oh boy here we go. I'll stop now.

Just wondering, why in particular do you want it to be exactly 26 gauge size?

I've noticed a trend with builders lately that they use 26 and 24 to make more elaborate builds which makes sense because its easier to manipulate to make more elaborate builds. But when you twist the wires the spring it has will not replicate 26 gauge or 24. I'd guess a very tight 28 gauge twist would be close, not sure though.

Mainly to make sure it fits through my atty post holes before I go buy a big roll. Also wanted a rough guess at how it performs at various ID's and wraps. 28 just isnt cutting it for me when I want a big, nicotine filled hit. Twisted 28 is nice though now that I did that.
