I've seen a few of these threads come up before ( not with 3puffs ) and they all end the same way, it's not a 5v ego. The last one posted ( can't find the post ) someone bought it, and it ended up being an ego rip off, that was 3.2v ( or whatever the normal voltage is ) and had a 3 second cut off.

I wouldn't go anywhere near this one, as with all of the other 5v ego sites, there is no description, and you would expect if they actually knew what they were talking about they would have something like "Giant boost on the old school ego!".

Of course I could be wrong, but I'm not going to put my money up to test it :p

I asked about the 5volt ego a few times and was ignored then the thread was closed. No business from me if thats how they deal with customers. I asked two simple questions: Has the battery been tested on a multimeter? What were the results?

3puffs.com chose to ignore my question and close the thread.

I'd say that answers the question and any others we might have.

Hi Folks.

Firstly let me apologize for closing the thread... other life issues have made me a bit less active in the forum than I'd like to be, and so I haven't really seen this thread until today. It wasn't our intention to close the thread with unanswered questions. I also did respond to Neon's question directly, but I'm guessing that it wasn't received (since this thread has been posted).

Sooooo. Question about voltage on batteries? All right, I've contacted my tech guy John to do a voltmeter test on it... and... his voltmeter is broken :(. Argh. Ok, so we owe you all a voltmeter test. Please give us a few days to get a more accurate description and details on our hardware. John is also an avid videographer, so I've asked if he has time, to do up a short video, and I hope he can come through.

In the meantime, I do have a buddy who's purchased our eGo-T, and confirmed the 12 second shutoff on the battery, and a nice heavy vapour being produced from a good deep drag. Regardless, we'll get a voltage rating for you all, and other specifics if you are interested... just let us know.

I apologize for not providing the customer service you expect.

Sincerely
Mark

Thanks for the reply Mark, kinda surprised you need a multimeter to tell us the voltage - the whole lineup is labeled 5V.. I'm no e-cig vendor, but I'd know whether my gear is HV or not (lol).

Since you answered Neon's question directly, what was the answer? (lol)

Not trying to ruffle feathers, but maybe elaborate on the product descriptions a little - looks like a bunch of product codes with no real specs. If I'm buying equipment I want to know how many volts, mAh, Ω, or whatever else is relevant. Otherwise it could be anything. Folks shouldn't have to rely on customer service for such basic information as a battery's voltage (lol).

If you're just trying to prey on the uninformed, then disregard this post and happy trails to you.

Not sure if my last post was successful but this is what was said in essance.

Disected two eGo 5V batteries which our supplier sends us. Despite the advertised 5V on the eGo battery, they both measured in at 4.1V NOT 5V !!!

Interesting question ... who carries around a volt meter to test these things.

Thanks Neon for your question as this is something that would have gone unanswered. Now we all know...
