Brand new to vaping. Got my Spinner, pyrex tank and cartos. I tried the 'cappucino' sample from Liberty Flights first as it arrived first. It was awfu, though much better if vaped in conjunction with my drinking a mocha frappuccino. I was thinking that vaping might not be for me. Yesterday I received my Kretek from Tasty Vapor. It is wonderful!

I've been smoking clove cigs exclusively for the last 20 years. The "Kretek" from TV tastes very similar to the old Djarum Internationals that I loved and have been discontinued for nearly 10 years. Nice clove flavor that even leaves a slightly sweet taste to your lips after drawing. I ordered the 6mg nic since the cloves I smoke now are 7.4 nic. Doesn't really satisfy my nicotine craving though, so I'm ordering high nicotine Kretek flavor and a bottle of doubler to play with the mix to get it where it satisfies better.

I have gone 24 hours without a clove cig :) I did however find myself vaping pretty much all during the day which is far more frequent than I would smoke a clove. My normal habit was 10 clove cigs a day. Is it typical to want to vape more frequently than smoking, or is it a matter of finding the right nicotine level?

I'm a 3-pack a day smoker.

I ordered an ego style battery about a month ago, and at first I thought I'd make the switch completely. Was down to 5 smokes a day the first few days. Then it stopped "doing it" for me. I ended up smoking the same amount as before.

Yesterday I decided to try again, I bought a Vivi Nova tank and it's a HUGE difference, like night and day. I haven't smoked since. Not 100% sure that I'm done for good but it's helping much more than before. And I'm vaping almost constantly.

I'm smoking 30mg mixtures, and it doesn't leave my hand, ha. So in my (limited) experience, yeah, I vape constantly. Then again, when not vaping I smoke constantly too. Hoping I can stick with vaping from here on out. Good luck to you!

hello. and welcome to ECF

a little of both, even when vaping 0 nic i dont want to stop unless i have to.
its your mind trying to find some of those chemicals your missing from smoking i think, and we absorb less nic from vapor then smoke so maybe raising your level a bit will help slow you down.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping :) Congrats on your 24 hours without a cig :)

Yes it is very common to vape more frequently then one smoked. Especially in the beginning. As you have found, the mg level of cigs compared to the mg level of vaping rarely corresponds. We receive our nic in an entirely different way vaping then we did smoking. Right now the only thing that matters is that you aren't smoking so don't worry about the level of nic you need vaping to stay away from the cigs. After vaping for a while its also pretty common to find you can reduce your nic level if you wish to do so.

Another question:

Yesterday everything seemed to be working fine. Today, I don't seem to be getting any vapor. I've played with the voltage settings on the spinner, no go. I was getting juice in my mouth, so I blew out the cart and adjusted where the holes in the cart were visible in the tank so barely visible(open) and I'm just sucking flavored air- no vapor at all which is very unsatisfying. I have no idea what is wrong.

Check the top of the connection of your device, the part that you would screw a tank or carto in. You might have some juice sitting there that needs to be wiped off. If not, just wipe anyway and make sure it's clean.

What kind of set up you have?

Yep, it was the cartomizer. Thanks for the help! I had thought they generally lasted longer though; I only used the carto for 1 day.

I am using a Vision Spinner, plexi tank with boge LR carto, and a drip tip. Pretty basic.
I replaced the carto, and I'm back in business. I was expecting the carto to last a few days at least before it burned out though. I've read on these forums that folks can sometimes get a couple of weeks out of a single cartomizer.
