4.8 volt charger up in smoke

well i only had my 4.8 volt nimh batts and charger about a week and today i heard a buzzing from the charger.
so i pulled the battery from the charger and the cord went up in a puff of smoke. i would send it back but i got it used in the classys from a reonaught. anyone else have any problems with these new 2 bay chargers ?

Wow! That sucks! I haven't tried the 4.8volt batts yet, but I'm sure glad no major damage happened. Good thing you were near enough to hear the buzzing and vigilant enough to check on it.

got one myself and I use it daily with no problems as of yet

Good to hear that you got there in time. That could've been ugly and I've always questioned those chargers. Something about them that just bothers me.

I've had my 4.8v charger for about a month now without any problems. The green light tells me when they are charged and the batteries haven't even gotten warm. I wouldn't be without this charger because of the green light. I'm glad it wasn't worse than a puff of smoke.
