i just got a Silver Bullet.....i use Titan 510 Attys from Totally Wicked...i have blown 4 already...i am keeping the atty wet, so wet that it is constantly flooded....is it possible that flooding the atty will cause them to blow? im thinking that the juice is bubbling up causing the short...any help/experience would be greatly appreciated.....at this point, im ready to throw this SB off my roof....im on my last regular atty.....btw, im vaping at 6v......terrible start to the "All Mighty" SB - cheers

thanks for the tip, i actually have a bunch of LR attys for my 3.7 devices. (MKII/Tornado) - i will order some HV Attys and see how that works out for me, before i give on 6v's - i have done alot of research around the forums and net on the 6v SB option......most of them were great experiences ... thought maybe i am doing something wrong - but i do like the 3.7 w/ LR atty option...have to get some batts -

If I were you Id use the SB with 3,7 and use some LR 510s.
OR
get yourself some HV attys and use at 6v.

save your last atty.. :)

no problem..

reg attys at 6v are hit and miss.. mainly miss imo... HV will last much longer and act more like a reg atty except you will get a lot more vapor quicker from them.
good luck..

what doots said, they take a lil time breakin in n getting good vapor but when they do its heaven...I DO use reg attys on my SB at 6v tho w/out probs, but I also have been dripping at 6v a while....my style is 4 drops, 4-6 vapes, then 4 more drops n repeat. if its real thick juice, 3 drops n same but like some said, when its OVER flooded, it makes the atty work harder to make vapor, thus, overheating the element n burning it out.

6v has its own learning curve, but bliss when u get it right. ;) Elendil is right tho, it IS much safer (proven ;)) to vape at 3.7v, but for the dare devil in us, if done right and were lucky enough, its a nice option sometimes :)

i have tried that....after blowing 5 attys - i am positive i am flooding the attys causing them to pop and blow.....it happens everytime i flood one-and keep vaping or flood one-blow it out, refill and vape....either way, flooding is causing the problem.....guess ill try HV attys

have you tried doing quick multiple presses on the sb instead of one longer one? helps the atty stay cooler/not burn

Try 901s. They will run a bit cooler than a 510.
Try KR808D cartomizers, they're about the same heat as a 901.

If you go to a HV atomizer it makes a difference which one. Most will get you the same effect as a LR atomizer at 3.7v.

Good question about flooded atomizers. No, it is not causing a short.
Is it getting a lot hotter? maybe. If the atomizer is flooded it will boil the juice instead of vaporizing it. When an atomizer vaporizes juice that also has the effect of cooling it. I can imagine that a coil may be able to get a lot hotter submerged in juice than not. You're running the same current through the coil and producing the same watts whether it is being cooled by vaporizing liquid or if it is "submerged" in boiling liquid. I wonder if boiling might create a small insulated area around the coil allowing it to get significantly hotter (even without producing any vapor)?

Maybe it's the way a 901 fits on a chuck? When I was running at 6v it seems like I always had over spill just waiting to run down the side of the device. The hits would be very dry very quickly and adding more juice just prompted another clean up.Maybe I was going about it wrong, but for the time being 3.7 is where it's at for me.

I'm doing quite well with 901s and KR808Ds at 6v. I'd do 510s too but they trip my batteries. I have gone through a handful of atomizers in hours and then the next one lasted a week or more. From the same batch/order. There is that too. No doubt though 510s are going to run hottest and therefore most susceptible to burning out.

Don't really know, my 510 atty is still alive after a month and even having long drags didn't get hot so much running at 3.7v. Blindsoup,as someone already told you though, the best thing is to use an HV atty at 6v. A regular atomizer could give you more vapor in less time, but this is a negative thing since not being built to run at that voltage, it will inevitably get hot as hell ( even my HV atty gets damn hot)and sooner or later ( probably sooner) die like it happened to yours. Always avoid flooding, and if it happens, immediately clean it. It will last much more than you expect. If it just looses performance in time try dryburning it. This will remove all the burned juice stuck on the resistance and on the fibres in the atomizer bringing it to life again. Of course you need to wash before dryburning and even after. If you don't know the exact procedure just tell me ;)

That is the experience I got from a HV on my chuck.Felt like a regular 901 on a 3.7.I had no luck with 6v at all.Seemed like a bunch of work. That may just be me though.Still have my stuff to run 6v,but leave it in a drawer.

It's not just you. I'm still relatively new to this, but I also got caught up in the HV hyperbole, comments that vaping at 3.7v is horrible and at 6v, you see Jesus, etcetera. I experimented with the LR atomizers, 6v configurations, battery issues, HV atomizers, you name it. I have recently found that my 3.7v experience with a good old standard Joye 510 atomizer is satisfying and much less drama - my 6v gear is also in a drawer. For me, a solid mod with an 18650 is the bomb :)
