I now have 4 devices, and I think I may actually have enough now. 2 Provari, 1 mech mod (black copper stingray clone), and one MVP 2. Each has its own kayfun topper, all coiled at 1.5 to 1.6 ohms. I vape Kayfuns at around 4 volts or a little less, so even the mech mod is fine to me at 1.5 ohms. I have a black kayfun on it, and it looks really nice, although I'm going to have to change the drip tip from the stingray drip tip back to the kayfun one I think.

One issue though. Couple of them actually. One, the Stingray appears to be too short with the 18490 tune plus the ring for an 18650 batt and two,, my husbands Kayfun will only read at 3 ohms no matter how many builds I try. I'm pretty good at eyeing what it should be with 28 gauge kanthal, but my husbands will not cooperate. I tried rebuilding the Kayfun with a kit of spare parts for the Kayfun lite from fat daddyy but no dice, so irritating!

I have the black copper stingray from hcigar and I only use Sony 18650 VTC5s and I have no problems with battery fitment with 0 rattle. Is that your first mech mod, that you may be adjusting it wrong?

I have the 18490 tube with the small extension tube. I don't see where to adjust it. It is my first mech mod, so I'd love some help.

Depending where you got your stingray from depends on how accurate and forgiving it is with different batteries. I picked up the brass stingray from fasttech, 18350 batt....great, 18500 batt.....great, 18650 bat.......terrible, both the vtc4 and purple efests don't fit too well (too big for the tube) and are picky about when they want to work. If the battery is too short try adding some battery spacers.

What I'm getting here is that you build a 1.5 ohm coil for your Kayfun and do the same for your hubbie's. Yours meters at 1.5 ohms and his at 3 ohms. Plus you rebuilt his Kayfun.

If that's it, it's really strange :). I know, that's no help at all!

If hubbie's Kayfun metered less resistance I would suggest you look for a short. The chimney comes to mind. But it's more resistance.

Does his Kayfun make less vapor than yours?

Yeah, the 18650 is the only one that doesn't fit right. It's a hair too long. I can still screw the fire button in place and it stays, plus the locking ring still works. It's just rather odd looking. I'm concerned because I am planning on using a Kick as well with it in 18490 mode but it hasn't arrived yet. In the meantime, since I had an 18650 for my husbands full size Provari I thought I'd give it a try in the stingray. If that doesn't fit, I'm worried the kick will be an issue as well.

Edited to add: the battery is too long, not the tube. There is no rattle.

What exactly is odd about the way it looks? A picture would be great :)

There was an issue with his center pin since day one. He has a Tobecco Kayfun Lite clone. The center pin has always been too short to catch the block on the atty and make contact with the battery at the same time. I used a silicone gasket from an old Protank coil weeks ago to create a tiny o-ring to put around the center pin. It worked. Built a coil for 1.6 ohms and he's been vaping happily away on it. Rewicked and dry burned it when needed without issue. Last night, I went to rewick it and dry burn it, and the coil kept reading 3 ohms. Figured the coil was getting kind of old, so I made a new one and mounted it same as the other three Kayfuns I was working on last night. It came in at 3 ohms AGAIN. So, thinking it was the center pin somehow, I tried to replace it with one I got in the Fat Daddy Kayfun lite rebuild kit. Tried to put in a new block too. The Fat daddy one was longer and caught the block just fine, but this time ohms came in at 0.0. Figured the new center pin wasn't working after all, so I swapped it back out with the old center pin and block. 3 ohms again. I left it as is for now. He'll just increase his voltage. He only vapes at around 6.5 to 7 watts on average.

All in all, I'm not please with Tobecco's Kayfun Lite's. I have one as well, and the threading is very choppy. My husbands threading is fine, but he has that issue with the center pin. My Hcigar 3.1's and the new Ehpro Kayfun Lite I got yesterday are all much better. I'm thinking I'll probably have to give him one of my Hcigar's...

The first batch of Stingray Copper Black clones were manufactured incorrectly. The extension tube to get it to 18650 mode was made about 2mm too short. Most vendors are getting corrected tubes to send out. I was impatient and ordered another one (Version 2) and it is perfect. (Infinite version)

I wonder if I'll be able to get one of the expanded tubes. Unfortunately, I ordered from Ebay.

Contact the vendor... It's worth a try. If I get a lead on where a corrected extension tube can be ordered, I will let you know! :)

Thanks! I'll give it a try. Not sure I'll ever really use the 18650 size though. The only reason I had the battery at all is because it came with my husband's full sized Provari. I'm mainly going to be using the Stingray as my stealth option I think, with the little 18350's. At most, I'll be using the 18490 tube with the 18350 battery and a kick.

I have the Hcigar version so it does vary from other clones, I have 1 tube and 2 extension tubes, I use the longest extension for the 18650, putting either the atty on first or last just make sure your battery isn't locked in yet, you want it to be lose by turning the firing button to the left until the top cap and atty is screwed down and flush, then you adjust the battery to fit by turning the firing button to the right.

You've done a lot of work with this Kayfun Tinkiegrrl. There is resistance between contact surfaces somewhere in it. One thought I have is next time you change the coil try slightly loosening the center screw first and see what that does to the resistance. If it gets worse before the screw actually becomes loose you will probably have found the part(s) involved in this.

I'm just going to give him one of mine tonight. He just texted me that while it's finally vaping right (I somehow got the ohm to read correctly last night), it's now leaking through the fill port AND the center pin. Not sure on how it's leaking there. I've still got that makeshift o-ring there. I'm going to give him my newest Hcigar Kayfun 3.1. Can't give him my Tobecco, as that also leaks through the fill port occassionally, and he's NOT getting my new black Ehpro Kayfun Lite. That one looks awesome with the Stingray. My first Hcigar also leaks through the fill port sometimes. I think I damaged it with metal needles as I didn't have any plastic, blunt, needle tips yet. Besides, I prefer the matte Hcigar over the polished one I got. As for his current Tobecco, I'm taking the whole tank piece for mine, as the threading is better on it then mine for some reason. It's the base that is giving so many issues.

I'm not sure my Stingray clone is even an Infinite as it was advertised to be. I thought the 510 connection was supposed to be adjustable in some way, and it isn't. It's still pretty though, and seeing how I only bought it for aesthetics, I'll keep it. The threading is butter smooth, and the firing button isn't choppy, so all in all, I'm happy.

Did the box it came in say infinite on it? When I got mine it said Infinite on the black box on thr front. I got 2 engraved tubes and one extension tube, drip tip, top cap and button. I got mine from eBay as well, what vendor was yours? I contacted mine about the corrected tube and she said it would be a while before she actually got them. The only thing with mine is the threads show at the bottom a little when the button is attached. The 510 pin is a floating pin, it automatically adjusts itself to the correct length.
