Hi everyone!
I'm about 4 weeks into vaping. This isn't my first post, but I'm still "new". I wasn't sure where to post this, so I hope it's ok here.

We got our mods the day after thanksgiving. I'm down to 1 or 2 analogs per day from about a pack to pack and a half. The first couple of weeks seemed a little easier. Yesterday and today I've noticed my desire to have a "smoke" is a bit stronger. Right now I am using 6mg nic. What is the next highest nic I could go to? I'm thinking it may be a good idea to go up just a little bit for when I get these cravings.
I think the next highest is 12, which is basically doubling what I have now.

Right now, when a craving hits, I'm vaping and vaping and vaping! I will not go back to a pack or more a day.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

yup - have a 'defcon 4' tank with higher nic juice... i actually tend to vape higher nic level in the morning to jumpstart the cranial operating system, then lower nic for remainder of day

Buy something like a $3.99 Aspire CE5 clearometer and keep it loaded with 12-18mg juice.

I am using 6mg in my MTL Nautilus tanks and 3mg in my subohm tanks but have a couple of cheap tanks loaded up with 12mg just in case I get the urge for something stronger. Works for me.

Yikes! I would vape 24mg for a few sessions if I felt the need.

(or 'crash' some mega-clouds with a dripper for 10 minutes)

I have a Kanger Nano. I have 2 tanks though..the regular nano subtank and then I also have a crown tank, which I have on right now. Great hit, every time. I enjoy vaping, and don't want to smoke, it's just the cravings have been stronger over the last 2 days, which I don't understand.

I remembered you had a Nano (subtank). If you also have a Crown, then you have two tanks.

Put some stronger liquid in the Nano. Vape on that... crush the evil monster. :)

Yes, use a higher nic. Twelve is usually the next step up unless you mix your own or find a shop that will mix it for you. Or you could buy the same flavor in 12mg to mix in equal amounts with your 6mg to get 9mg. Or 18mg mixed with 6mg gives you 12mg which you could further dilute with your 6mg, so that would give you four choices: 18, 12, 9, 6.

I started with 6mg myself because I couldn't inhale the 12mg, made me cough. But after several weeks I did bump up to 12 because I was getting tough cravings. By that time, I was used to the vapor and could handle it. I even chewed the nic gum sometimes to get past it all. When I started vaping, I intentionally didn't smoke at all, as I knew I had to make a clean break or I wouldn't succeed. Some people can have one or two and eventually get away from them, but I know myself well enough to know that if I fudged, I would continue to fudge.

It's been almost 2 1/2 years now since I had a cigarette. I smoked ~45 years, the last decades about 2 PAD. I absolutely hate the smell of cigarette smoke now. The more you vape, I believe you'll realize how absolutely repulsive cigarettes are. E-cigs are a miracle for me, but that doesn't mean the transition was totally painless all the time, just wayyyyy better than cold turkey.

If I can do it, so can you. Good luck and keep up the good work.

My friend welcome. Now I need some information.
If you are using 0.5 ohm head stop there dont go up.
I suggest you use 1.2 ohm head and use whatever high nic you have. If you need a stinky it is ok if you cant get rid of it with higher nic liquid than smoke it all the same dont fight with it. You will not like a cigarette after a while dont worry and dont let your curiosity about it remind you smoking all the time.
But find the liquid you like best begin with high ohm and high rate nic. When you are happy you can adjust whatever you like.

In my first few months with the older devices I was as high as the 30+mg range sometimes.

Vape as high as you need to get past it. After a couple good whacks you wont really care about a cigarette, and uh, raking the leaves, or starting dinner, or the cup of water you put in the microwave 20 minutes ago........ lol.......

I agree with almost everyone else here. Bump up the nicotine! Someone above recommended loading 12 in the nano tank, and I think that is a great suggestion! When you are dying for a smoke, try puffing on the 12mg.

I am still puffing on 12 as my main Vape. I am using the subtank mini with a 1.3ohm coil at 14watts typically.

I'm a rookie vaper, but I also keep several different strenths of juice loaded in different tanks, and I use stronger nic level juice when I "feel the need." I have not had complete success, but I'm down to averaging less that one cigarette per day. Honestly, I don't even know why I'm smoking that one cigarette--they taste just awful and are bringing me no satisfaction. Old habits are certainly hard to break.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply! I really do appreciate your suggestions and encouragement.

I'm going to get the 12mg! I like the idea of having more than one strength around, just in case. And, I can also make a "9mg" as suggested, by combining some 12 and some 6.

I was just surprised that the cravings were stronger now then the first week I drastically cut the smokes.

I don't really enjoy smokes like I used to....so, that's a good thing for sure.

As others have said, keep a spare tank at the ready with a higher nic juice. You will find when/where you need it (mornings, after eating, ETC) and be ready for it.
Keep your mind in the game and do NOT give in....quit the analogs now and stay strong.
After a week or 3 you'll find things changing for the better, tastes/smells.....after a few months dial down the high nic use for a while and keep going down after a few months (6 is good)....It took me 2 years, but I've been on 0 nic for 5-6 months now and standing strong....analogs stink and turn my stomach now  (30yr pack a day)

You can do it....and if you fall off the wagon, it's OK to slip a time or 3. We all do, just need to keep your mind set and you'll be fine.
We're here for you :vapor:

Can only iterate what others have said here about bumping up the nicotine. It would also have an effect which ever coil you use as well. Anything above probably 1.5 ohm, have a higher strength because it does not atomize the nicotine as efficiently as say 1.2 ohm or lower. I personally use 24 mg on a 1.8 ohm and 6 mg on .6 ohm coil. Hope this helps. You can do it!!!!! Happy Vaping!!! :vapor:

I was having a few drinks last night and had a rare urge to smoke. Ok, more than a "few" drinks. ;)

I was vaping 3mg Milk Man throughout the day. When the urge hit, I grabbed another tank loaded with 12mg juice and hit that like Cheech and Chong for a couple of minutes. Urge gone.

I used to smoke a pack a day, bit 12mg is too strong for me for all day vaping. It is great for quick hits if you feel like a smoke or between long meetings though.:)

Good morning, Stacey, and welcome! I agree with the "increase your Nic level" advice, but with one caveat. Please try the 12mg on a higher ohm coil -- say, 1.0 or higher. First, higher ohm coils are made for flavor chasers (out of vogue, perhaps, but there are lots of us who want flavor over clouds! :)). Second, higher Nic on a sub ohm coil (the .5 ohm coils that lots of folks use) is going to be really, really strong. Like, blood rushes to your head, and coughing ensues strong. For me, 12 mg Nic sub ohm was like 24mg Nic on a 1.2 ohm coil. Finally, remember that analogs have lots of other addictive chemicals in them. It may be that your cravings are related to that detox process. Best of luck to you!

When I started I needed to keep some higher nic liquid and some 0mg liquid on hand of my favorite flavor. That gave me the flexibility to mix up whatever worked. Combine 12mg with 6mg at 50/50 to get 9mg...and so on. It will take awhile to get rid of those cravings, and you never know what exterior force is going to trigger them. Sounds like you are already doing a great job resisting the dark side...may the force be with you.
