Any day that you're smoking less than you normally would have is NEVER a failure!
Don't beat yourself up over it and DON'T THINK OF IT AS A SETBACK! Have that smoke every once in a while. As long as you keep vaping and keep from going back to the way you smoked before, it's still a success, IMHO :D

Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with analogs. I've had a couple in the paste few months (ok, fine, so my sig-banner is technically a lie :p) and the taste really was nasty... but oh so good in a weird way... But overall, analogs lost their "satisfying goodness" that I thought I'd be missing.

But besides my new love of vaping, the main thing that keeps me from going back to analogs is telling myself over and over the reasons I decided to quit in the first place: my kids, my health, my bank account (that one's a little iffy, but it's there, lol).

I also believe your environment has everything to do with it. If you're sitting around bored or doing things you used to do while smoking like a chimney, of course you're gonna be feigning. Get out and be active and don't hang out with smokers if possible. [this coming from someone tapping away at the PC while his roomies are smoking up a storm in the next room, lol]

Also, after about the first month or so analog-free, I noticed the cravings didn't peak nearly as bad - they were still there, but nowhere near as bad. I went to the river the other day and not wanting to risk killing or losing my PV, I left it in the truck. A few hours later, chillin on the shore and I was wanting a few puffs but I wasn't even close to going into a full-blown nic-fit, lol - I easily waited it out til I got back to the truck :2cool:

I love this forum! So much support and great advice!

I just placed an order with Gourmet Vapor. I forgot to look for a coupon code, but I don't remember seeing a place to enter one. At any rate, 5 mL bottles for $3.95 seemed pretty good to try them out. I ordered 3 different chocolate flavors and a pink lemonade that looked really good, too. And I got a variety of 6, 12 and 18 mg. The only problem with that is it makes it hard to know which flavor I like best, because if I don't like a higher nic as well, I won't know if it's the juice or the extra nic that's detracting from the flavor. But I've already spent too much on vaping in the last 2 weeks to order the same juice in different levels, LOL.

At any rate, the one cigarette I had before lunch seems to have killed my craving. I'm back to vaping my 6 mg chocolate and very happy :)

Don't get too down on yourself, and don't over-enforce yourself. Do what's necessary to make the transition painless - if your husband sees you having a hard time with it he's going to be less likely to take it up.

I've gone from 50+ cigs a day to two, if I feel like smoking them - over the course of a month or less. When activities that would have had me chain-smoking make me want analogs, I hit the PV's hard (I carry three). I save my two-cig allocation 99% of the time, usually to the end of the day when everything is squared away after dinner, when I can relax and actually enjoy having a smoke.

In three months or so when I finish my current carton, I think I'm going to get a more expensive/better brand so I can enjoy them a little more. Even my Doc thinks that maybe two cigs a day is ok compared to what I used to do. My blood/ox is up ten points too.

Yes, I'm a poster boy for switching. My employer got me started on this, and she's having a lot more trouble with eliminating the analogs than I did. I did find that the Dekang "wensten" flavor really made the difference for me when I *needed* a cig, so I gave her a bottle and it's making a big difference for her as well. There may be something important for some people there, find one that kills the craving and keep that handy at all times.

Your mileage will vary, but doing it in a way that torments you only makes you want another analog. Relax, and transition in a way that keeps you relaxed.

- I like that pink lemonade flavor, that's one of my "constant carry" set - in 24mg

Get higher nicotine juice for those times when you crave a cigarette.

This is what worked for me. 36mg juice and I'd vape myself dizzy. After that I didn't want a cigarette at all.
On the other hand, 1 smoke in 4 days probably wont kill you if you give in. Just don't beat yourself up over it.
You're on the right track

I've been vaping for a month now. I had some cravings at first, but I held out for the first two weeks. When I finally lit up an analog I thought it was the most disgusting taste ever. I took a couple puffs and almost immediately proceeded to try to get rid of the nauseatingly awful taste from my mouth. It's weird cause I still like the smell of analogs. I love the way they smell when someone's smoking right next to me. I just *can't* smoke them anymore.

I think the higher nic level is what I need. I've got some 12 and 18 mg prefilled cartos, but not in flavors I like. I've got juice coming. The first order to get here will just be 6 mg and 0 mg. When I ordered it I was working on being able to vape without coughing. Yesterday when the craving hit I ordered some 12 and 18 in flavors I like.

I probably should vape more. I've been trying to vape in the same way I smoked. We didn't smoke in our house. I have hit the PV a few times in the house, but it freaks my cats out, LOL. Guess I'll use the bathroom to vape if I'm having a craving. I work from home, but if I keep going outside every 10 minutes to vape, I won't get any work done! I'll sort this out. It's Saturday now, will be spending the whole weekend with my smoking husband. I'm just not going to kick myself if I give in to the urge to smoke. Weekends are to be enjoyed! And G9K had a great point about how my husband may be affected by my struggles. Right now I'm craving my chocolate vape! Better than craving an analog :)

It's OK to smoke half a cig every now and then. If you can get down to one a week, that's a win, whatever way you look at it. It means that eventually you'll be able to ditch them.

Take a look at our InfoPages, there is a lot of useful info in there. The Beginner Tutorial page 3 has some good stuff for you:

Well only received my kit on wednesday evening ... And so far I had 0 interest in smoking a normal one
I smoked around 25-30 a day. I did light one up yesterday while doing some work in my garage and i took 3-4 hits and put it out again. I only took medium nicotine flavors so far. Anyway enjoying my 510-T alot and from my very small experience I am going to stick with this :)
