If thats what kills the urge for a smoke then IMHO go for it. I don't think that even 48mg is close to the nic intake of a Marlboro red. A lot of people will tell you not to vape it straight and for me personally it is way too strong. I have 60ml of 48mg and I cut it way down to about 12mg-24mg. I tried it straight and wow, hit me hard, I loved it but wouldn't vape it all the time, too much nic gives me a headache.

lol i think this could be where we need regulation! 48mg is an assload of nicotine... OD becomes more likely.

1/2mL of liquid at 48 mg would equal a pack of marlboros, as stated earlier. but who would actually vape 1/2mL a day??? that's not much vaping imo.

imagine spilling that on your hands. i've helped a friend of mine prepare the liquid he sells (he's a supplier, yes) and i've gotten light headed from spilling the 24 mg liquid on myself.

I found 48 to very strong and got the sick feeling that I used to get when I chewed to much nicorette gum. I suggest it be cut with vg.
I also noticed that it gummed up two atty's and I have them soaking in alcohol now. Can't be sure if it was from this juice or a combined effect from one months worth of vaping on the same two atty's.

Those calculations are suspect at best. There hasn't been one definitive study to show we're getting that much nicotine. The amount I vape, I'd be "ODing" constantly, and that just isn't happening. I had barely been smoking before I switched to vaping except when I was drinking. So, maybe one pack in a night every 4-5 days or more, depending on my social calendar. Now I vape straight 24mg or higher all day and have no ill effects. The studies that have been done indicate that a lot less nicotine is absorbed through the lungs when vaping as opposed to smoking, so the numbers don't add up. If you can handle the throat hit from 48mg, I say go for it. If you start to get a little buzz, put it down. I find that I naturally do that once I can feel the nicotine effects anyway. I spill 36mg juice on my hands all the time. Doesn't do anything to me at all as far as I can tell.

Hey all!

Based on my experience very little nic is absorbed via vaping as compared to analogs.

I smoked (heavilly- 40-50 a day) or hand-rolled Drum tobacco. Drum is a dark VERY strong euro halfzware shag.

I INTENTIONALLY tried to OD on 36mg juice meaning i literally huffed for an hour straight and although I felt the nic in my throat a little I had ZERO ill effects. Had I tried to smoke Drum for an hour continuously I'd never make it.

My next order is gonna be for 48mg exclusively and to be honest I would order some even higher to kick up my morning and after-supper vape if I could source it.

I'm vaping 36mg right now and it satisfies (barely) all but that morning and after-supper jones.

I certainly DO plan on tapering my nic intake down but not right now- Been off analogs for a month and I'm just not ready to give up my heavy vapes right now. For what it's worth, though, in the evening, while watching a movie or reading online I often vape 18mg cuz at those times I'm mindlessly sucking on my 510...

Maybe I'm a hardhead with an ultra high tolerance but I really think the fear of nicotine OD via vaping is WAY overrated.

I just looked into that and found some interesting stuff. However, based on what I found, wouldn't this still be potentially dangerous?

Basically, vaping is less efficient in some users because the particles in the vapor are too small to deposit in the lungs, so to get your nicotine the ideal draw would be long and held in. That would explain why you guys are saying it isn't strong enough; I might hold my vapor in longer and absorb more nicotine.

So while this is what you need to get a nic-fix, it could be dangerous to others. I sell these at the mall and have a high nicotine tolerance due to my boss yelling at me to smoke more, but I tried 36mg once and it was too much. It's not uncommon for a customer to get a nicotine buzz while I'm explaining how they work... that's off of 18mg.

Conclusion...
A) these are dangerous to people who absorb the nicotine more readily
or
B) by experimenting with different strengths you have a mean(er) nicotine addiction.

Well, it's been a few days now and I've been vaping the 48 exclusively. I'm no longer chain-vaping and also taking shorter pulls. I used to smoke Parliament Lights, now after about 3-4 hits, I get the same buzz I got from a Marlboro Red. I'll switch back to something lighter if I feel like chaining for an hour or so.

Thanks for all your comments!

Actually no. Nic-level regulation won't serve any purpose.

What you personally need to do is vape responsibly and handle all nic juice with care.

Well said Kreel! Thank you

I started low and went up in nic level. Finally got off of tobacco with 36mg. I'm 4 months clean now, still have an assortment of lower level juice around. If I vape less than 36mg for more than 1 day I get antsy.

36mg is what works for me. When I can no longer purchase 36mg I'll be getting 48 or 54 and cutting it.

Couple of posts in this thread got it right. We are all different in how we absorb nic. Available information suggests the amount actually absorbed vaping compared to smoking is very low.

Absolutely, start low and work up to what works for YOU. If that is 6mg or 12mg or 18mg or 24mg or or or or.....great. But if that IS the case for you, the lower concentration liquids work for YOU, please stop going all gloom and doom on those of us that simply require a higher level to stay off the tobacco.

Oh my. That almost qualifies as a rant for me.....

Peace
