Just wanted to share...

I recieved my new joye ego e-cig 6 days ago, smoked two cigarettes since. I have smoked 1-2 packs a day for more than 20 years... and now all of a sudden, I don't. Wow. I didn't even plan on really quitting right away, I just wanted to see if these would help (not knowing what to expect).

I have tried cold turkey, the patch, gum, wellbutrin and chantix... some helped, but I've never been able to stay away from smoking.

I think my friends/family/co-workers are already sick of hearing me talk about how great these things are! But I can't help it. It feels like a miracle to me right now. lol.

I am so fascinated by it all, I've spent hours and hours on this forum and all over the internet gathering all the info I could ever possibly need to know. I am so glad I found this forum! It has been my favorite resource. I think I'm on information overload right now, so I'll be sticking with my current kit for as long as possible I think.
Anyhow, just thought I would share another success story. Five days isn't very long, but for me, even five hours away from smoking was a big deal. :)

missw- I'm going through the same thing! I started a couple weeks ago and haven't smoked an analog since and my friends and family are getting so bored with hearing about it...but, I can't help it...it is a miracle to me. I tried everything, but I LOVED smoking. Hard to quit something you love doing. This has been hands down the best purchase I've ever made! Congrats!

Congratulations! I have gone 4 days since my last cigarette :)

I take it, you aren't having cravings for a "real" cigarette? I am staying with my parents for the time being, since I am in the middle of a cross country move, and my dad decided to hide my last, full pack of cigarettes, saying if I really wanted or needed one, I would go buy one. I have been craving like CRAZY, but nothing bad enough to make me go to a convenience store and buy a pack.... its like magic, because with any other quitting "device" I have used, I would be at that store within 5 hours, nevermind 4 days!

Definitely celebrate! I know exactly how you feel, and it is such an amazing feeling to know that you don't stink, and you are slowly becoming healthy again!

I still crave cigarettes, I just don't feel like I'm suffering without them. Vaping gives me alot of comfort and apparently just enough nicotine to get me through. It is sooo comforting. I love knowing I can use it at anytime. It is good enough for me. I'm glad it tastes pretty good. I would probably still do it if it didn't taste good, because it is working.

I loved smoking but did not love being a smoker.

WOW. And you have a Joye E-Go? That is what I want to get next... am very jealous but happy for you... enjoy and keep on keepin on!!

I bought the E-go based on the reviews here. So far it's working for me. I literally spent about 5-6 hours trying to figure out which brand/type to buy once I decided to buy one. Honestly, I really wanted the battery with the led on the end thinking it would make me feel more like I was smoking... lol.
I'm trying to pace myself as far as buying other brands/mods etc.. but I have a feeling I'll be wearing this thing out pretty quick if I'm not careful. It is so tempting to just start buying more accessories and stuff. I must resist though because one of the big motivators for me is to save $$.

Congratulations Missw - You'll find that it gets a bit easier as time goes by as well. Drink a lot of water though.

I think just about everybody that has discovered the e-cig and started using one is pretty surprised at how much easier it is to get off the analog smokes. Its pretty amazing.

Thanks for the reminder on the water... I should start focusing on the getting healthier aspect of quitting. I haven't really increased my water intake yet. (does coffee count?) lol.

missw, congratulations!

You were Brilliant buying the eGo to start with considering your smoking habits. Many people once they get over the kits that are massed marketed go to the 510 and then the eGo. I made that mistake. I was a 43+yr smoker, 3 PAD, and the 510 got me off of cigarettes but the craving was almost painful. I bought the Riva and immediately the deep cravings went away. Do I ever think of lighting up again? Sometimes, after meals...I then grab my PV, and that feelings gone. Moments of extreme stress, yes, but I remember to pick up my PV, and it goes away. :)

Congratulations again and happy vaping! :)

I got lucky that I found the right e-cig for me right away. I was only vaguely aware that these things existed before last week. This forum was a tremendous help. I think I'm also lucky that e-cigs have evolved enough to suit my needs right away!

missw- just a warning. Many people go through a breaking in period...sore/dry throat, cold symptoms and such. There were a couple days when I really thought I'd have to stop, felt like I had strep! Once I got through that (which, BTW, is a normal symptom of quitting analogs, not the e-cig) it got much easier. I was having a rough time in the morning because my throat was so sore I couldn't vape...now, no problem at all. As stated earlier..drink a lot of water and cough drops help, too! I gargled chloraseptic. Good luck!
