Hello all! Iv just joined so hi!

I have a small issue. I just bought a battery from ebay and i used it. It was working great! Thought id give it a charge so i used my old skycig charger as it is a 510 thread.
Well... Iv popped it on and iv gt a red indicater on my charger and a steady on blue light. Iv left it for an hour ( it hasnt gone green yet) and tried to vape. The light just keeps flashing like its dead. Even though it was charged before i pluged it in. Weird!

Why has it drained the battery?
Is the battery just broken?
Will i need to get a charger?
Can i fix it?

Please help im at a loss!

Thanks for having me!
Garnie xx

does the skycig charger put out 5vdc or 4.2vdc?

If you put the wrong voltage...battery could will 'splody 'splody

If you used this charger it "might" work...it appears to be the 5vdc to 4.2vdc regulated (they have 5vdc to 5vdc 510 threaded USB chargers..those WILL blow your batteries up!)...but unlike the ego that produced 420mA charge that one I believe only pushes 120mA...which means 1 hour of charging is NOWHERE near enough! (with that charger and the eGo battery of 650mAh or more...will probably take somewhere around 10-12 hrs to charge!!!)

It will screw on...but it might not be enough to charge it...

Not sure where to get one in the UK, but the battery charger should look something like this

If you can find a vape shop around you, take your battery and let someone that has seen the problem you are describing diagnose it...

Also with ANY Li Ion battery...don't just snatch the recharged battery off the charger when the light changes...let it sit for an hour to "normalize" and cool down before you use it...you don't wake up in the morning, then go running as hard as you can do ya?

Also just came across this

Please Note: Ego-Tank batteries have a special Locking Feature so that they will only activate when you want them to.

To Lock your Envy Ego-Tank: Quickly push the activation button 5 times and you will see the button's light flash 3 times. Repeat to Unlock your Envy Ego-Tank.

It has recently come to our attention that people are sending back Ego-Tank batteries thinking that they are not charging because the button does not light up when pushed. We are finding that many "dead" batteries that we are receiving are actually just in “locked” mode. If you click the button 5 times you’ll see the light flash a few times and that means it is locking itself so that it won’t activate unless you hit the button 5 times again. Please try clicking the button 5 times and seeing if that awakens the battery before contacting the Warranty Department.

These chargers should help you out

As many have stated, use the charger designed for your battery. Also, make sure it's not locked (push the button five times quickly). After an hour of charging it should have worked for a few pulls at least. What others haven't mentioned, put the battery in locked mode if possible before you charge it. When I charge my ego battery while locked the led on the button does not stay on. If the battery is on while it is charging it takes longer to charge and it's bad for the battery.
