Guilt is pointless, just learn from it and try not to let it happen again.

Obviously, smoking those cigs didn't solve your problem, they just added a layer of regret on top of whatever it was. I did something like that a few months ago - had a situation that went straight into the toilet and stayed there for a while (still there, actually) and I opened up a pack of Marlboros and smoked a few. Then realized that smoking those things wasn't going to make anything better, and all it would do is make the money I spent on vaping a waste, make my breath bad, make my clothes stink, and give me back one hellaciously expensive habit. Why go there? I threw the rest of the pack away, turned up the volts on my ProVari to the point that puffing on it made my throat raw, and puffed away till I got a headache. Then I had something to focus on besides my situation. ;)

Some of us slip around here, but we don't make a big deal about it. It's not like any of us are going to beat on you for smoking cigarettes. Life is stressful and that can make us want "an old friend." When I'm getting stressed to the point where I want a cigarette I'll either vape through it or I'll up my nicotine. There's nothing in the rule book that says you can't do that. Man, I'm going through some stressful stuff right now and my PV is more like a pacifier! I should just glue it to my face, except then I wouldn't be able to drip or recharge my batteries! LOL!

Aww, it's alright. Just glad that you're back to vaping and didn't keep smoking the cigarettes! I'm sure you will be just fine, and hopefully feeling as bad about it as your are you will choose not to do it next time! Look at it as a good thing :)

I'm only on my second day, and I'll admit it isn't completely easy... I am still craving the analogs but I'm staying strong.

After 5 months of not smoking... and then going back.. you REALLY feel the horrible smoke in your body. It does not feel good at all. Vaping is so much of a cleaner feeling; and when I was smoking analogs for the past two days... All I did was think about how much more I enjoy Vaping. It's just so frustrating to go 5 months, and then screw up like this. But.. this site is really great. I defiantly don't feel as bad about it... And just consider this slip a reminder of how much I enjoy my e-cig. Thank you very much for making me feel better about this.

I stopped in January. I had half a pack left. After about a month, there was a slow delivery with the good old USPS and I was left without my e-cigs for a few days. I ended up smoking that last half a pack.
It was a good thing because it showed me how much cleaner the e-cig experience is. I looked at it as a A/B comparison test. I haven't had another analog since. I also have collected so many varying supplies that I will never again be in the position of counting on a delivery.
It sounds like you had the same feeling as I did. The good news is now you know the difference and your preference. Vape on!

The other day my ego battery and my backup 510 battery both died. I asked my boyfriend to bring me the ones that were on the chargers but he forgot. Well guess what happend... Yeah I probably had 4 or 5 of my boyfriends cigs. Each one was nasty but I still had another and another. When I got home and could vape again I felt so much better and less guilty. I was afraid that I would start back up again. I am proud of you for picking up your pv and saying no again to cigs. buy yourself some special juice as a reward!

Good for you getting back on your e-cig. I did the same thing, but I was smokefree only 4 days at the time. I felt horrible about it too, but agree with the others here - don't beat yourself up about it. Learn from it and realize how easy it is for the analog demon to get us back in its clutches. Only 40 analogs compared to the several hundred that you didn't smoke in those 5 months. That's pretty darn good, I think.

Hi everyone, long time reader, first time poster! First, I would like to say what an awesome community and source of support this forum is - it's restored my faith in human nature. I was reading a post the other day where a woman ran out of her primary juice and someone offered to send her 40 ml that he wasn't using, for free! Likewise, everyone here understands how difficult it is to overcome analogs and I think we are all grateful for ecigs as an alternative.

I agree with everyone, don't beat yourself up about it. I smoked for 25 years and have been vaping for about 2 months. I slipped a few times in the beginning and have bummed an analog from friends here and there. About 2 weeks ago, I couldn't believe how bad an analog tasted...and I loved those babies for soooo long. I still miss them now and again, but I think if you stay on the bandwagon and get your body used to vaping, then the problem will solve itself, because analogs just won't be pleasant when you fall off the wagon. Obviously I'm new to this, but I thought I'd share my observations and suspicions.

If anything maybe it's sorta a good thing. In a way it sort of deromatisizes the whole analog thing. Given how long most of us have smoked (and I'm still very new...few weeks analog free) falling off the wagon and then realizing it's not quite what it was cracked up to be is a great learning experience. The only things that sucks is breaking a streak...five months...that's a lot and you should be proud, but 40 vs the 100s as someone else mentioned... that's something to be proud of!

As Boneshark posted, relapse is part of recovery. Don't beat yourself up. It happens. I left my wife about a month and a half ago and relapsed pretty badly. I was back to almost a PAD for a week or so. I'm down to bumming an analog from a friend here and there and vaping the rest of the time now. When the stress dies down, you'll find it easier to stick with the vape and stay away from the analogs. In the meantime, do your best to choose the vape over analogs and you'll be fine.

Aw man, that's a bummer for sure. Don't beat yourself up too much though, it happens, and in the grand scheme of things probably will end up working out better for you. It helps, from time to time, to remind yourself why you don't miss those things when you start to forget. Is it a potential for relapse? Sure, but now you get to fire up your Vape and remember why you love it so :)
