Do i leave them all in the packaging, or do i take them all out and burn them off,
to make sure they're good while the warranty is in force?

I know, it sounds like a "well do what's sensible" type question,
but i like to keep new things, new,
and i've gotta wonder if the plastic baggies and the oily stuff
are to keep them that way until use.

If the dang things were more durable i wouldn't worry enough to ask either way.

Thanks,
- joe

the "oily stuff" is whatever gawdawful PG/VG stuff the manuf. loaded them with, the oft mentioned primer.

If you've a multimeter a quick check and put them away. No need to burn them off and reprime. 510's should be around 2.5 to 2.9 ohms.

Before I got a multi I simply put them on a battery and hit the button. As soon as I heard a crackle I put them into storage. Never bothered w/ adding extra liquid prior to storage, so far so good... touch wood:)
