I do drip sometimes, but never more than 2-3 drops (usually two). Still, it's possible that even that small amount was enough to create some problems. Maybe I should let the latest affected battery sit for awhile and dry out.

I have pretty much retired my L88b cigs in favor of my RN4081, anyway. I'll keep the L88b's for backups, although in many ways, I like them better.

Now off to the mods section for some good cart mod ideas for the RN4081.
Do these batts have holes in them, or are they sealed. If they have holes, if juice gets in them it will foul the electronics.

UPDATE

Since I received my replacement batteries, shortly after my initial post, I have experienced no further problems. I did have a couple of days when I thought I was experiencing battery failure, but it turned out to be 3 bad atomizers (topic for another thread, I suppose).

Recently I also purchased a defective USB passthrough in the meantime (and one additional defective atomizer). The passthrough was stuck in the "on" mode, and just kept burning no regardless of me taking a puff or not. Darn thing nearly burned my lip, too.

The problem with the passthrough was identical to the problem I had with the batteries. So, I conclude that the auto switch is a faulty design that's prone to failure. Manual batteries/passthrough seem more reliable, from what I've read on this forum.

Anyway, everything is working now, so I am happy.

I have bought about 20 batteries since July '09 because I thought I might have problems. I have only lost one 510, one 910 and two 801 batteries since last June. I did have a four automatic batteries that played dead or were touchy. I either shook them out/blew from the tip or let them sit opening down for a few days and recovered two of them (juice leaking from cartridges.) One of the 801 auto batteries I consider dead is so touchy that if I look at it too hard it turns on.
