I love the 510 but for one massive thing, I can only get 4-5 puffs before the Atty overheats and tastes like mmm i'm eating the battery. I have used various cheap Attys and I am currently on number six of the Janty ones yes those expensive ones lol. So have they performed any better - if I said hotter than the surface of the sun might be if skillfully mixed with the acrid taste of battery --then no they are not.

Surely I'm not the only one that notices this? No wonder the Screwdriver does not have a 510 version it would cause another chernobyl. The only way I ever got a hot experience like that from regular smoking was if i put the hot burny end in my mouth by mistake, and of course I never did just being figurative there for poetic license.

If anyone uses the 510 and disagrees I would dearly like to hear about it.

Also the battery comment is a description of how it tastes not what is actually happening for those wondering.

This reminds me. With my 501 3 times so far I've put the LED end in my mouth and tried to puff. Anyone else do this on occasion?

I can remember putting analogs in my mouth the wrong way and lighting them and that first drag making me want to die. Blech! Of course that only happened when severely intoxicated, but still. I like the fact that now the worst thing that could happen is I'll feel a little silly. +1 for vaping!

I've caught myself doing the same a few times.

I have to say I haven't experienced burning tastes at all in a month of vaping with the 510 and I have been vaping constantly.

It sounds to me like you are trying to take too many draws in quick succession. Vaping is a much more leisurely pastime than smoking (you don't have to worry about wastage from your ciggie buring down whilst you're not smoking it! ;):p)

If you try to take several draws in quick succession, he juice cannot wick fast enough to the atty and the atty will dry out and taste burnt..... no matter how much juice you have in the cart.

Try taking a longer pause between draws and see if this sorts your problem out.

I try and "smoke" the LED end all the time, and my sister never gets tired of laughing at me for it. I swear she sets me up half the time :D

Nicotine - A few things, if I may...

You shouldn't drip into a hot atomizer it's a very good way to kill it. The metal bits inside the atty that make it work aren't made to be tempered like that and can snap... give your atty 30seconds or so to cool down before dripping into it again.

Flooding is just a waste of juice - Like alcohol abuse! But.. Juice abuse.. naughty naughty :p I never drop more than 3 drops into my atty at a time and it seems to like it that way.

I'm agreeing with Angela though on the burning thing, sounds like your drawing too much in too quick succession, not only does it make the atty too hot and taste like crap but it also lowers the amount of vapor per draw.. What Angela meant about wicking was that the mesh inside of your atty wicks liquid from a little reservoir underneath it, if you vape too quickly it doesn't get the chance to pull liquid from that reservoir into the part of the atty that actually heats it.

How exactly do you draw on it? Maybe you need a little technique critique? Some things just can't be seen in a video, ya know?

I have this problem too on occasion. I find my cart needs to be topped off or my atty needs a drop or two. It's odd that you have this problem with all your attys though. *Knock on wood* I am still using the same atty I have been since I got my 501 with no problems... hasn't been all that long but from others experience with them I feel fortunate. The alternating between 3 is hilarious... in the car :p haha... but geez how inconvenient to have to do that. There has to be a better way for you... I'm crossing my fingers you find it! I'm sure someone on here can help ya :)

Ryle just noticed you ciggy avoidence tally, yes you do suck slow lol That's a slow week for me total :)

HUH?????? Maybe I'm dense this morning (not enough coffee) but that made absolutely 0 sense to me.

As for pointers (and no guarantees that I do it "correctly" but this works for me)

I press the button down about 1 second before I begin the draw, draw for about 3-4 seconds, release the button, and continue to draw for another second or so. I almost never take a draw in less than 10 seconds after the first and I rarely get an overheated/nasty tasting atty unless I'm low on juice. Another 3 drops and I'm good to go for a while.. maybe give that a shot and see how that works for you?
