or turn them into a 5 volt power source for pt while vaping on the road :)
Already did that, sort of. The 18550s are 3.7V each. I stick two of them in the extended cup on my indulgence and bring them down to 5V with a RIT. It works really well, but since I spend most of the day at a desk, the PT allows me to give the batteries a rest and not have to recharge them every 8 hours or so.

I just ordered that very same combo!

I wanted the sit and go but decided to give a higher volt a try and maybe these atties will fire up a bit more.

I hope it is a step up from my standard 510 batteries that came with the manual kit. I ordered it on the 10th. received it super fast but after 15 -20 days I find the batteries not holding a charge for more than 30-45 minutes. I did clean my atties however. I do find that the USB charger than comes with it gives it a hotter charge. I don't know why this would be although wall chargers are always suspect with me. It could be the atties too which are just weak burners. Although I have been at this a year I am still somewhat new as far as figuring the ins and outs of these pvs.

These 5V PTs hit much harder than a standard 510. It's a totally different vaping experience.

One thing to watch out for though - It occasionally goes into some sort of weird mode. Twice now it has stayed on after I released the button, and kept on until I unplugged it. After plugging back in, it would blink for a while (maybe 30 sec) before resetting and working as usual. I don't know if it's a "cleaning cycle" or what, but you want to keep an eye on it and pull the atty off or unplug it completely if it happens. At 5V, it will pop the atty pretty quick.

Amen...and another warning:

If you happen to be wearing a tank top or bare chested, or have skin exposed and have been vaping on the 5v like a fiend, do not rest it on your stomach/chest/thigh or other various body parts....The atty can get hot.

And this warning comes from experience, I am an idiot :p & the passthru was my first higher than 3.7v device.

Hey hoog, my PT is still doing this. Not all the time, but maybe once every other day or so. Any idea what this is or any way to stop it?

Mine does it too.. at first I thought it was the button and just tossed it in a drawer until you said yours has same problem but starts to work again. Lo n behold I dug it out of my drawer to test it, and it is working again. But I definitely think some of them are unaware there is a shutoff built in, or they like to give you a thrill for laughs

PS.. She worked all night with no hot flashes... maybe that is her problem she has hotflashes... haha

Mine does it too but it doesn't flash the LED stays on solid and it stops working, so I unplug, wait a while (often over a day) and then reuse it and ts fine. I have no clue why it does this either lol (I also use the madvapes 2amp ac/usb plug).
One question though Hoog - why did you get rid of the thicker cabled 5v PT? I love them because the wires seem less prone to accidental breakage (like my 3.7v PT which Ive run over several times with my chair wheels and had to replace..) - it was the reason I bought it from you (I've bought stuff from you before but never a PT) - I saw the thicker cable and went THIS is what I need! And I was right - it works like a champ - bring back the thicker cable! :)

The manufacturer changed them.. We're working on having some custom made that produce a solid 4.8-5.0 volts and have a thick 5 ft cable. Just waiting on gettting them in :(

I have one here that I have to unplug once in a while also.. Still works but just a PITA sometimes..

Mine has gone from an occasional annoyance to a constant one. I rarely get more than half a dozen drags before something funky happens. Sometimes it happens on the first drag, sometimes only after a few minutes of use. Bizarre modes I've experienced so far:

Solid light until unplugged, no vape
Solid light, vape stuck on until unplugged
Solid light that stays on until unplugged, but will vape properly with button presses
On/off blinking for 3 sec, no vape
Dim/bright blinking, no vape.

Sometimes it will go from one weird mode into another, other times it will sort itself out after a few button presses. I really liked this PT, but it's gotten to the point where I spend just as much time fiddling with it as I do vaping.
