I was looking for this a few months back. madvapes.com has them for like 15 bucks.
I lost interest after I heard from many people that PT's can't do a true 5v.
Remember that a passthrough is only as good as the power source....
Most computers cannot handle 5 Volts out at the draw of an e-cigarette so you are going to get a huge voltage drop under load. Depending on your source, such as an average computer, you would be better off with a battery over a PT.
For a 1.5 LR atomizer at 5 volts you need a better than 3.5 amp source. Even a cartomizer you are looking at a 2 ohm draw.
To realize a true 5 volts, you would need to find an power source that can supply that much current. You can try looking for an AC adaptor rated at that or greater, or possibly the portable I-pod cordless chargers (but that is really just a battery anyhow)
Furthermore, no one usually vapes an LR at 5V.
Sorry I'm not really an electronics guy, but are you saying that if I get the ego passthrough from happyvaper and I get the 5v passthrough from mad vapes and plug it into my car (the same usb port that charges my ipod) that I'll get the same voltage because I'm using the same source?
yea 5v x 5v = 25v/1.5(LR atty) = 16+ Watts = Way to f'in hot!
It has its uses.. It changes pork flavored e-juice into bacon flavor and beef flavor into jerky. Marshmallow into Smores..![]()
Ok, so these are the specs of the usb out:
USB I/F
- Compatibility USB 1.1 & 2.0 Full Speed
- File System FAT16/32
- Maximum Supply Current 500mA
- Decode MP3/WMA/AAC
Preout Level(mV)/Load - Unbalanced 2500mV/10kΩ(CD/CD-CH)
Preout Impedance(Ω) Under 600Ω
Speaker Impedance(Ω) 4-8Ω
So it sounds like with 2500mV and 500mah it's not suitable for a passthrough at all eh? FlyingJ gave me some advice that I should just use the lighter to usb attachment, is that the best way to go about it?
edit: if I understood him correctly that was his advice anyway![]()
What's more important to you?
Vaping or listening to music?
Plug it in, and if it fries, then get a cig lighter to usb adapter.
It's only money![]()
to be safe, why not get a USB adapter for your cigarette lighter?
Check the specs before you do that...
The cheap one from china that sometimes come with kits are only made for charging, and only put of 500ma.
Back in the 801 day LOL I spent about $35 from Circuit City to get one rated at 2amps
