510 atomizer advice

Hello everybody. This is my first post, yep I'm a noob. I don't know much about vaping but my brother sells ecigs at the mall we live near, and he got me some pretty cool gifts. A smoke 51 trio(red) 510 ecig, caramel 12 mg fluid, tobacco 18 mg fluid, a USB charger and a really cool case which holds a charge and charges the battery on the go. Also a five pack of prefilled cartridges. However I think he accidentally gave me a burnt out atomizer, or I just thought that it was burnt out (the wick appeared burnt) and my Internet research convinced my I could easily remove the wick for slightly less vapor and the burnt taste would be gone. I broke the atomizer! And they have switched to a new product called green smoke and no longer carry the 510 atomizers. So I was wondering... What should I buy? Cartomizers? Atomizers? tank atomizers? This seems to be a good deal here (sorry if I can not post links to vendors that do not support the forum, if so please remove) with only $3 shipping first class. Any and all advice will be appreciated, I'm sure somebody else's trial and error can save me a bit of trouble.

Hi and Welcome!!! Those will work on your device, however I am not sure of the brand they are selling and cant say for certain your getting a good product. I prefer cartomizers myself when I am out and about but will drip on attys when I am home, it cant hurt to give them a try. Recommend a boge carto, they have been great for me and very reliable.

I was able to get 15 Boge low resistance - 2.0 ohm cartomizers for 19.95 and free shipping from Vaporbeast.com I use them on a KGO 1100 mAh and its a very good vape for me.

Hi & Welcome to ECF! I agree with MattyT, you'll be much better off IMO with the Boge standard resistance 3.0 Ohm Cartomizers. They'll be relatively fiddle-free, cost less and just more pleasure to use on your 510 threaded batteries. You can get them here with free ground shipping: Crystal Clear Vaping (These are empty so you'll need to fill them with your e-liquids, or you can order more as needed. Lots of juice vendors on here!)

Just a tip to the Original Poster though: Do Not use low resistance cartos or attys on a slim, cig-sized electronic cig. LR stuff should NOT be run on any batteries below 450mAh, and generally the slim batts run around (I think) 180 - 220mAh. Running a low res. load discharges them too rapidly, which can be dangerous and at the very least will drastically reduce the life of the battery.

Like Warren D. Lockaby said make sure you get the 3.0 ohm cartomizers on you battery setup. If you wanted to try low resistance like rayme52 suggested you will need a bigger battery, like an Ego battery for example. Advantages to going low resistance is warmer vapor, better flavor, and (the coolest part) more vapor!!

I also get my cartomizers from Crystal Clear Vaping, $19.90 for a 15 bundle, also get a syringe to help fill and free drip tip which is an added bonus.

Josh, I've looked around a bit & I'm not sure what you have actually *is* a 510. If I were you I'd make sure of this before ordering any cartos or attys for it. Best of luck!

Just went on the website myself, the Trio does use a connection that looks similar to a 510 but could possibly be a 4081 or even a proprietary connection for Smoke 51. Jds42, definitely try and confirm with your brother that its a 510 connection if possible before going through the trouble of getting attys or cartos that might not work.

Also, those products seem way overpriced and there are quite a few devices out there that will be just as good if not better then what you currently have for half the price. Plus the devices that we would recommend to you, you will be able to get replacement parts and extra attys or cartos very easily and for better prices!! So if your going to try and get something new, unless your bro is going to give you a REALLY good hook up, come here and we will steer you in the right direction.

Hi Jds42, Welcome to the ECF. The smoke51 trio IS a 510 connection, BUT your carts for the smoke51 will NOT work on a standard 510 atty.They have a sleeve atty where the cart covers the entire atty.510s have a cart that fits down into the atty and the two carts can't be interchanged. I purchased a smoke51 auto battery kit for myself locally as an emergency backup when one of my first 510 kits was going out for warranty service. Warren and the others are correct in advising you toward using cartos . They are way more convenient and hold more liquid and less expensive and fiddly in the long run in my opinion. If you want to run an atomizer setup then just pick up some of the matching 510 carts that would be from the same vendor as you choose to get the atomizer. Like everyone here also has warned against, try to find something around 2.7ohms or higher. This way you won't send those batteries to an early grave. You have some liquid(you didn't say how many mL) but keep in mind that most of us use at or more than 3mL per day so just make sure you have enough to keep at it once you get going. Good Luck. And I feel like this is some kind of sin here haha but I smoke regular cigarettes and find the ecig to be a cool alternative and for smoking inside. I actually used to buy the disposable ones (the brand is square and they work pretty good) for when I worked as a restaurant server for $7 at the gas station. I just dripped (or rather syringed) a half a ml into my brothers atomizer, brand is nic stick (sp?) and it fits on my battery. The combination makes so much vapor that I was sitting here blowing rings, but it the fluid drips down the atomizer into my mouth a little. I looked at the boge carts, the 15 pack looks like a good deal. If they don't work I will just mail them to somebody on here. I used to belong to a mycology forum which eventually landed me in some legal trouble because I was pulled over and I had a gift somebody sent me on that forum in my possession! I miss belonging to a forum! You guys are my new Internet friends ha thanks for the advice all. I understand the low resistance vs standard resistance. I'm sure I'll be modding and all kinds of fun stuff soon. And yeah, the smoke51 products are expensive, they sell the portable charger at my brothers place for 100 dollars but I do not think it is smoke51 brand, it has Gucci design on the exterior. Haha. And the battery that he just got me has a fake diamond that lights up blue in the tip.. He has me vaping with style..haha. All free of charge, actually I paid $10 for 30 ml of caramel flavored 12mg fluid, but that was to his boss and I'm sure still a pretty good deal. At least compared to what they sell it for. My throat feels funny now. I don't think my brother really wants me as a customer, he was just being nice. The greensmoke kits are pretty expensive there too. I just read over this.. My iPad has autocorrect and will switch out vaping with vamping or gaping.. So heads up for weird terminology in the future
