I was having problems with my atomizers, so I bought a new one. was working good for about a week. Now after about 2 puffs, it keeps getting flooded. I blow it out, get another 2 puffs and its flooded again. did I just get a bad one or did I kill it somehow? the others lasted for two months. I used an old one for awhile flooded as I didn't realize it but when I blew it out it billowed out smoke.

This new one even after I blow it out hardly makes any smoke. I don't think the cartridges are the problem as I use the BFD cartridge mod and it was working fine with the old atty once I blew it out.

I just think I must be doing something to kill the atty or I got bad ones. I ordered 2 more which should be here tomorrow or Monday, but I can't keep going through an atty a week.

Apparently, someone has decided to make atties that suck, now, since it's cheaper that way, and they figure we'll keep buying 'em until a "new batch" appears that actually works right. Anyone in the U.S. wanna start making atomizers that actually work well, consistently? There's a market for it, right here, and world-wide. I'll give you $9.99 a pop, plus $5.99 or whatever it is to priority mail them to me. Obviously, it only takes about $.50 worth of materials to make one, or we'd be seeing $20 "premium" versions of them, guaranteed to last 6 months, by now. Somebody, please, just make a good, reliable 510 atomizer for a reasonable price, and people will be lining up on every PV forum on the web to get them. I'd do it, myself, if I had the time, which I don't...

I'm about to switch to snus, or meditation, or something else, instead...

You might of gotten a bad atty, but read your own post, attys wick, just like the batting, once it is saturated it not longer "wicks", but an improper fitting cart mod can drip causing flooding.

A properly done mod will allow the juice to be "wicked" and not flood the atty. Some attys take a little more time to break in than others. Have you tried with straight batting?

Before dismissing someone trying to help, remove the unknown from the equation. Me I couldn't care less, toss the atty if you think your cart is fine and buy a new one.

apparently you didn't read what I wrote or you missed every word except for flooded.

Like the old attys billowed out smoke after I dried them out and this one hardly makes any smoke or that the cartridges worked fine with the other atomizer. Further, I'm not getting any liquid in my mouth.
... as the liquid is separate from the vapour portion, you will be getting leakage around the battery waaaaaaaaaaaay before you will get a mouth full of liquid on a 510, unless the atty chamber is completely flooded.

A bit off topic perhaps for this thread, but I get liquid in my mouth ALL THE TIME with my 510 and I can't understand what I'm doing wrong. It happens after I top off more than other times, and I am darn sure I'm not over filling the cart. I am using a PTB mod with an "M" fold. When I get it right, it's perfect. But then half the time, I'm getting liquid. I draw VERY lightly and it still can happen. I'm confused. . .

Does gurgling in the atty mean it's flooded regardless of how much liquid you THINK is in there?

I am not sure what exactly you are doing wrong becuase i have NEVER gotten liquid in my mouth using the 510. All I can say is try the blue foam mod. it seems to work very well for everyone that I turn on to it. I used to get some questions about the filler from our customers, then I told them about the blue foam, and haven't heard a peep out of them since..

just my 2 cents...

I was getting that too for awhile, I blew out the atty and no more problems.

I've gotten plenty of liquid to the mouth, make a cartridge that doesn't seal that good, you will get liquid, even make one that does and have an atty not burning that hot, you can get the same thing.

Yup!

A little background here:

A 3 part system is better than a 2 part system as you can blow out the atty. 2 things will flood the atty: too much juice or an leaky cart; and condensation (natural phenomena of vaping) as the atty cools/heats up etc. Just look at the sides of your cart after taking 5-6 hits, it's moist.

On a 2 part system you can't blow the condensation out, that is where you get a mouth full, because it is allowoed to collect in the cartomizer. Blowing then out results on blowing out the juice as well. One of the reasons I have switched to the 510. Should you take no more than 4-5 hits every hour or so, then the system works fine. I smoke every 20 minutes so, it didn't work for me.

Now I received some attys with carts attached. They have a very small lip 1/16 inch long) to insert into the atty, those should not be used for various reasons: one they are flimsy and don't stay attached; and they will give you a mouthful if over filled. But they are not intended to be used.

Proper carts are rectangular in shape just like in the videos. They have holes on the side to suck the vaper. The liquid chamber is kept separate from the air chamber. Take the tip off one, you will see what I mean. Furthermore, their is a silicone gasket that needs to be in place, this will further reduce any chance of getting juice into your mouth, (read condensation).

I ordered 4 attys with my 510. Three of them have worked great over the past month. But one of them constantly floods no matter what. It's no big deal since the other three work. But I guess there are doa attys out there.

And I have gotten slight juice in my mouth with my 510. But only a few times when I puffed on it way too hard.

it appears I owe you an apology, it does seem that the atomizers were getting flooded from the carts. I've seemed to reduce it a bit, but they are still getting flooded, this is very frustrating.

Yes that will happen. I received 5 with my shipment of high octane juice. Only one works on all my batteries; two of 'em work on 2 of my batteries; and 2 work only on one of my batteries. Yet they all work on my PT, go figure.

Out of the 5, only one is not performing as it should. I use the HighPing cart mod. On that atty, I went back to the PTB, it is coming along but not like my others. Attys require to be broken in. This one required some extra coaxing, but in turn I know it will never perform like the others. When looking inside, the atty's bridge is conical vice pointy and rectangular???

I have also noticed that certain attys perform better on my batteries than on the PT. Not everything is created equal. Find the combination that works and stick with it.

When you get frustrated, sit back, relax take a couple of good tailpiped hits and try and figure out why things are going wrong. Introducing multiple unknowns in the equation, only exacerbates the underlying problem. If the atty was working fine before X, then go back and retrace your steps.

In closing, the atty that is requiring extra coaxing, drip vapes like a charm, so I'll use that one fro dripping :D, not all children were meant to become fireman, or laywers etc... a doctor or policeman is fine ;) Keep on vaping...

... something else I do when refilling my carts prior to re-vaping with that cart. I tail pipe what remains in the atty. I usually get 2-3 good hits, it vapourizes what's there and eliminates the requirement for blowing them out and wasting juice. Regardless, they all get blown out before bed. I hope all this helps.

In my experimentation, I'm finding that there is a fine line between "too much" liquid and not enough. I am only using the pyramid tea bag modification now to fill my 510 carts, and am using primarily VG based fluids. When I overfill the cart, I know it immediately. Blow out atty, tap tap tap the cart to distribute the liquid. When I add enough liquid to see it pooling in the cart - I've added too much.
