510 Atomizer?

Alright, so I was going to purchase my first setup and I remember someone suggested I should get a 510 atty for dripping. Can anyone lead me in the right direction as to what I need? I've searched a lot and everything seems so different. I just don't want to buy the wrong thing.

PS. I'm ordering the MVP2, if that helps any..

Thanks.

Hi

I have an overview of basic dripping in my blog. It has info on the 2 most popular plain dripping attys, the 510 and the 306 (which has 510 threading). Drip, Drip, Drip…

ETA: What you are looking for is something like this. The picture isn't accurate, they don't come with the plastic thing stuck in the top.

Ready the Occy blog. That explains everything you need to know. You should be able to find basic attys like those at just about any vendor that sells hardware, probably the place you are getting your MVP from too.

Don't forget your drip tip. They all serve the same function - keeping your lips off the hot metal of the atty when you use it. You don't need to go nuts here when it comes to price or style.

Another point as to what to get: If this is all new to you you will have to experiment a bit. If you get a low resistance atty - 1.5 ohm - that will be warmer and produce more vapor than a standard resistance atty in the 2.0 to 2.4 ohm range. But because LR attys get hotter, faster they won't last as long as a standard resistance one. A LR atty might last two weeks or less and then the higher heat pops the coil inside and it's over. A standard resistance one may last weeks to months with cleaning.

I'm assuming you have to figure in higher shipping costs and longer shipping times to Alaska, thus the heads up.
