I went to my usual 510 supplier and see there are several types of atomizers now.

I see the regular one, a 306 atomizer, an ego atomizer (I have ego batteries) but have been using my original atomizers, and an expert 510 atomizer.

What do I order and what is the difference"

Also what are cartimizers?

Thank you for replying
Pat

A cartomizer is a one piece unit that combines the atomizer and the cartridge into one.

I use just regular 510 atomizers. They are cheaper and work just fine with my t-rex (which is like an ego). Be careful - if you by mega atomizers you have to buy mega carts to fit, extended ones are the same. I personally have spent money for new things and found out that the original was just as good.

Most of the atomizer types (ie. 510, 306, 801) are not compatible with each other unless you use the right adapter. Stick with 510's if that's what you're using.
Not sure about the eGo atomizers since eGo's use regular 510 atomizers as far as I know.
There are also Low Resistance (LR) atomizers and High Resistance (HR) atomizers.
LR are for 3.7v big battery mods (like the eGo). Used to simulate the vapor of a 5v device. Less resistance on 3.7v = more heat = ~5v vapor
HR are for 6v big battery mods. Used to simulate the vapor of a 5v device. More resistance on 6v = less heat = ~5v vapor
This is all done because lots of people consider 5v to be the vaping sweet spot.

Cartomizers are simply a atomizer and cart build into one disposable unit. They hold alot of juice and can be refilled too.
Hope this helped!

The eGo atties are probably mega eGo atties which are only compatible with mega carts. There are cylinder and cone style mega eGo atties, both with their own type of cart that it is only compatible with.

I use regular 510 atties and just started using the cylinder mega eGo atties today. The cylinder atties are compatible with a cart that holds about 2.5 ml of e-juice. I was able to get about 50 drops in one empty cart!

I'm liking the 510 atties for at home with a drip tip and I used the mega atty while I was out and didn't want to refill my cart. I find both regular 510's and the mega atties are working great.

eGo atties, unless they say "mega", are just regular 510 atties with a pretty gold band that fit eGo, or any other 510. The eGo atties are good ones though IMO. Remember than an eGo (or Riva or Tornado) is really just a 510 with a fat, longer-lasting battery.

There are at least 4+2 atties that fit the eGo regularly:
- The standard 510 atty, with or without gold band. The original one for eGos is the Joye, many of the others are made for unregular 510- or eGo-clones and well, you have to like that. (I don't.) The 510 expert you talk about is most likely one of those. (3.7v clone atties are great on mods, though.)
-- Standard 510 atty with low resistance
- Mega-510-atty, looks just like a longer regular 510 atty, which is what it is
- eGo-Atty, ordinary 510 threading, mady by Joye, comes in two shapes: Cylindrical and conical. The cylindrical (occasionally called "Type B") can hold even more liquid than the conical ("Type A"), 2.5ml vs. 1.5. Much softer than the regular 510 atty.
-- At least the cylindrical one is also available in a LR-version.
All of those need different carts, too.

Added to those atties, the 306 also fits the 510 threading, tiny little thing, thoroughly lousy carts, but vapes very nicely.
Then there are several different cartomizers out there, many for the 510, some for the eGo. Many of them burn their filling, though, and they are more expensive than regular atties. (Because they don't last anywhere as long as a regular atty, usually.) Some taste very good, though. The e2 doesn't have a filling it can burn, as well.
And of course you can use several other atties on the eGo with an adapter.

I've got a few pictures here, text may be in German, but pictures should speak for themselfes. No pics yet there of the cone-shaped one.
