I've had my 2 atty's for about 5 weeks now. I originally used 100% pg liquid and found the TH too strong so the last batches I've ordered are 80pg/20vg. I've done good until the last 24-36 hours or so. I have been using almost exclusively Root Beer Float from Vapor Renu and it is this liquid that I've started having trouble with. It is a dark liquid whereas the other's I've used are lighter in color. Symptoms are reduced or no vapor, leaking a lot of fluid between the air holes between the atty and battery and carts that don't seem to be wicking properly.

I just switched to a 100% pg liquid from Strictlyejuice and it seems to be performing better now but is still much reduced from previous weeks. Bottom line is I need to order more atty's but that is going to have to wait till I get some money. I've tried cleaning my atty's with water and with isoporyl alcohol (70%) letting them dry over night, priming, etc. but something is still wrong and I'm not sure what to do.

Is my problem the darker liquid or the addition of 20% vg to my liquid? Why is the liquid leaking through the air holes? I've read high-ping's dry burn clean method but I can't try this yet because I don't have enough battery power yet. I have 2 510 and 1 ego battery.

Any thoughts?

I have been dealing with the same over and over again, so far no luck :( it seems like the problem is in the internal wick of the atty.

You can try following this video: YouTube - E-Cigarette Atomizer Maintenance it was recommended to me but I can't find isopropyl here so no luck for me, but the method makes sense, specially the way he moves it in the alcohol, rather than just letting it sit there...

Also it has been reported that VG is harder on the atty than PG, as well as tobacco flavors, but I can't say that for sure, since I don't use VG and mostly fruity flavors...

I"ve had the same problems with my atty's and have gone through about 10 since the first of july. And I"ve tried all the cleaning methods. but walah! I think I figured it out :) I've been "cleaning" them after they no longer work. ie, hard to draw, no vaper, no flavor, absolutely NO TH. BUT....with my new batch of 3, I took a chance when the first one starting losing a bit of its 'punch'. That's when I blew it out and did the isopropal cleaning. Left it on my stove to dry through the night. Primed it good the next morning with a bunch of drops, and....walah. it worked like new!!! So I am excited. I think my problem was I would try and clean them after they were so gunked up and probably hardened. So I'm pretty sure now, its all about maintaining them and not resurecting them.

hope that helps.

but probalby not.

for me it was trial and error. and reading and reading through all the posts here. then believing.

Ok this is interesting...I'm using an empty cart, there is no filler in it either, and I've been dripping for the last hour or so. I view myself as a heavy vaper FWIW and I'm getting fairly consistent vapor now at least but when I use a filled cartridge it doesn't seem to wick properly. Am I putting my blue foam in wrong? It is from strictlyejuice too; do I need to cut it down for a 510 cart?

Am I flooding my atty? After I put the filled cart on with poor results that included some gurgling I took it off the battery and blew out a good bit of juice out of the atty. I don't believe I'm overfilling my carts but the bf doesn't seem to be drying out like it had been. What am I doing wrong?

When you prime an atty after cleaning...some instructions say to use up to 8 drops to get the bridge moist. Surely that's not 8 drops all at once? I'm going crazy...I don't think I've had enough nic today!

Had nothing to lose...neither atty was working very well so went ahead and did high-ping's method of cleaning and lo and behold both work perfectly now. Have a bit of a foul smell in one so will have to clean it again in hopes that smell goes away but I'm vaping full blast again!

Here's a link to high-ping's post for anybody having troubles like I was. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html

...not a big fan of the "dry burn". atties are not meant to be used dry. i know that some people swear by this. if you look hard enough, you'll find another six or seven methods that people "swear by". i've become a fan of "keep it simple stupid", mostly because i'm sure that i have sent atomizers to an early grave by messing with them.

Everyone has different views but this is what works for me.. I blow out the atty first, you'll be surprised how this alone can help with the leakage and draw factor. Then once a week I run the atty and cart under warm tap water and blow out any excess water. Replace the filler. If you use Blue Foam or Flugal, cut it in a "T" or "V" shape. Make it wide on top so it plugs the top of the cart so it doesn't leak and narrow going down for wicking. Occasionally you will may still have leakage. Just blow out the atty and your back in business.
