I just received my new eGo mega atomizers and cartridges. I cleaned them up, primed them, filled a few carts (one with the filling it came with, one with some blue foam) using a vaporbomb 80pg/20vg mix fluid, and started vaping. At first, everything was great....until the few drops I had primed it with were gone, then instant disgusting burning taste....
Apparently, attys are not wicking the liquid from the carts, at all. I left it standing on the battery all night, and none of the liquid made it to the atty.
I tried trimming down the size of the filler so there would be more space, also to no avail.
Anyone had similar problems, and been able to solve them?

The atty takes more breaking in than a 510 atty. Definately went away w/ an hour or so of heavy vaping. I haven't used the foam, so I can't help you there. Also, if you don't fully fill the cart, it will desrupt the capillary action, and it won't wick well.

I am pretty sure that there isn't enough room in the cart for one more drop! I filled it full the first time, and I have had the thing for a few days now and it still won't wick from the cart to the atty.

I ordered an Ego cone atty and have had it for a week. I had the same problems you have. No amount of polyfill trimming helped. I finally made a blue foam dart and it did the same thing, bad taste after the filler fed the juice in the foam. What finally worked was trimming the blue foam so that it just fills the cart with no space between the cart and the filler. I vaped all day and got tremendous vapor and great taste. Then, it refused to continue as it had all day and I got the same dry atty taste. Several times when I had the dry taste, I did a dry burn while viewing the atty coil in a dark place. The atty was glowing bright orange. That's a dead giveaway that the atty is not wet. Dripping works fine.

If I set the Ego upright on its battery with the cart up between vapes it usually will feed juice to the atty through gravity. It certainly does not feed as reliably as the 510 standard or 510 mega atty (I have both). I haven't given up yet. I will try trimming down the blue foam a little at a time until it feeds reliably with no leaks.

Yea, I tried the foam out on one of my 3 cartridges with no luck there either. I just can't seem to get this one to work, and I am leary of trying out a different liquid now because I already wasted 3 cartridges worth of one good one, and don't really feel like wasting another. I have had decent success with the 510 cartos for the most part, so for now that's what I will use mainly. I love the idea of having the mega cart/attys though, because of the sheer volume of liquid the carts hold. I am sure that there is some way to do this, but I don't know what it is lol. I suppose I haven't tried the Pyramid Tea Bags yet....maybe a whole one of those would fill the mega cart and work out?

Hi whitebird and sorry to hear about your issue. My particular learning curve was the opposite. If I filled the cart to the top it would make the atty to wet and I couldn't get vapor. Plus if I set it on end when full of liquid the juice would run out the atty holes all over the place. I cut the foam back just about 2 mm from the top and when I filled it up I took a paper towel to soak up the standing juice off the top. The one thing I have learned is it does matter how I hold it and set it down when not vaping. I always lay it on it's side until I've had about 20 vapes. I also need to make sure the foam is snug and touching all sides(if u will). When it starts tasting like it's drying out is when I will set it up on end, flick the cart with my finger a few times and it's ready to go for another 10 vapes. I just keep repeating until it's mostly gone which is usually most of the day.

I think I could possibly be using a different brand of blue foam than some others. The package says...from Marine Land...Rite-Size Bonded filter pad. It actually has two sides to it, a light blue side and an almost white side. The foam I have received free from some vendors is a dark blue and much more porous than what I'm using currently. It works well
