Welcome Cindy , but as long as your not getting a burnt taste with your juice . All atty's , carto's and such heat up , some more than others . That's why most people use drip tips , because the atty's and carto's get too hot to put in their mouth . If on the other hand your getting any sort of a burnt taste , your not using enough juice , and your getting what's known a s dry hits . I suspect , your just chain vaping , and not allowing the atty to cool down . Completely normal . Vape away .

Is this a cartridge that came with the Joye 510? If so, it should get warm if you vape 5-10 drags in short succession and if that's the case, just allow a little bit of time between drags for it to cool. Maybe 10-15 seconds. If this is an aftermarket carto (Boge/Smoketech) then it may be a low resistance unit and your battery is struggling to produce enough current to drive the element. Typical Joye 510 batteries are designed to be used on Standard Resistance cartomizers/atomizers because the batteries are not strong enough to efficiently drive the lower ohm load of a LR carto/atty.

I run LR 1.5 ohm atomizers on a 3.7 volt Silver Bullet mod and they will heat up if I hit it several times consecutively. If I slow down the pace however, it will stay luke warm so to speak.

Hope this helps, but if it doesn't, someone on ECF with more knowledge will help you get to the bottom of it.

Hi Cindy! Maybe too obvious to be of much help, but I recall from my 510 w/cartridge days always keeping two of them loaded-up and handy (+ two batteries charging) and alternating between the two. I suspect it won't be too long before you do as so many of us who started with 510s fave done-- abandon the cartridge setup in favor of dripping or cartomizers. IMO, cartridges are the most troublesome delivery device out there. (YMMV, of course.)

Yeah, you're on the right curve replacing the filler, but honestly, I just ditched cartridges altogether. I would drip mostly, until I found the Boge LR Cartos, which are just perfect for me on 3.7V!

So long as you're not getting dry vapor and the atomizer isn't so hot it burns you, you should be fine, though. People intentionally run the atomizer for extended periods of time, intending to get the coil to glow red hot in what's called a 'dry burn' and all is well.
