Typically if you are getting the melted cart it means you are not keeping the cart damp enough and or you are puffing on it too frequently and getting the atomizer too hot. You do get the plastic taste when this happens.

Try keeping the cart topped off and give it a rest between puffs. I used to have this happen to me during my first couple months of vaping. The problem gets worse when you repeatedly puff on it trying to solve the problem causing the atty to get too hot.

Keeping the 510 supplied with enough juice at all times is the key to happy vaping.
What I do is...

1) Remove the filling from the cart.
2) Stick a coffee stirrer all the way to the bottom of the cart.
3) Cut the stirrer flush with the top of the cart.
4) Remove the piece of stirrer that was still in the cart and cut another 1/2 inch off the top on a 45 degree angle.
5) Place the angled side back into the cart. The stirrer should be in the cart about 1/2 inch from the top.
6) Fill the cart with juice until it is 3/4 full.
7) Cut a hair more than a quarter inch off the filling you removed from the cart and place that small piece into the cart on top of the stirrer. The stirrer keeps the filling from going to far down so it still makes contact with the atty.
8) Top off the filling with more juice if it is not already very damp.
9) Attach the cart to the atty and give it a try.

This is kind of a combination of the straw mod and the spring mod. It works very well. You may have to make adjustments until you get it just right. If you overfill before you put in the poly filling you will flood the atty and you may get leaks. You can get leaks if there is not enough filling also.

If you only get a couple of vapes before it runs dry you may need to trim more of the filling to make it even thinner so the juice flows through better. It's a fine line to get it right but once you do you won't be disappointed.

Sorry this didn't work for you.

Two more things to try. Try trimming the polyfil more to get more juice to the atty. If it works while you're dripping it should work with the cart unless there is something wrong with the wick.

You can also try lining up the cart with the atty bowl. Look into the bottom of the atty. You should see a white rectangal shaped bowl in the very bottom. Your cart is shaped like this. When you place the cart in the atty line the two up in the same direction. This may help if the bridge is higher than normal as you described.

Good luck.
