In your bushes, watching you undress
I am nearly pulling may hair out.

Fibers stuck in my 510 attys all the time, and they are near impossible to get to because of how deep the well is that the bridge is set into.

A full rinse, soak, blow and clean still leaves me with 10-20 minutes PER atty trying to fish out fibers that are clogging them up.

Funky bent paperclips to try and push them out. Compressed air to help dislodge them. Tweezers to ATTEMPT to grab them and yank them free.

ARGH!

This is why I'm vaping my Dragon more. The exposed atty bridge is soooo easy to clear out.

Anyone have a trick????

Bandit, are you sure that it's fibers from the carts and not the fibers that help that atty wick? I pulled some fibers out of one of mine and now it works for ****.

This is right. There are atty fibers that if you remove you either kill or weaken the atty. I did this to one of mine - it's still useable but weaker than others. The fibers are thicker. I think they reside under the metal mesh that makes up the atty bridge go to around the base near the coil. If you pull on them, you'll get more. Not so with cart fibers.

The filler fibers are real thin and get caught usually on the top of the atty bridge (or the side). Hair like curly, a few here and there but not bunched or stringy like those of the atty. And contrary to popular belief, I don't think they burn or melt. I think juice residue can burn on them though to make them look 'burnt'. The plastic at the top of carts can melt.

There is also the case where and end piece of the metal mesh will look like a fiber. It's what the cart fibers get hooked on usually. You can cut these off with small scissors without ruining the atty, but I'd never pull one of these with tweezers. I've 'tucked' them into place before with a toothpick.

Once I realized they were supposed to be there I did the same thing with a toothpick, but one atty is completly bare.. sigh. Oh well... live and learn right?

Once you get your atty's cleared out, pull out all that fiber and do Pyramid Tea Bag mods to all your carts. You will be VERY glad you did! I had so many issues with the fiber (stuck fibers on the atty, burnt taste when the cart was still half full, bad wicking etc). After doing the PTB mod to my carts all is excellent! Never a burnt taste and I can vape the whole cart dry without that awful burnt taste!

I've seen some - I've got quite a few now ;-) ... where the metal mesh bridge is completely slid to one side, almost off the frame and you can see the fibers underneath. It's almost as if they are an insulation but that can't be - there are too many bare spots as well. Too bad we don't have an atty or batt builder that frequents the forum - in almost any other product there are people that can tell you the whole story but we have to reverse engineer the atty at least.

But yeah nudging with a toothpick is a safe way to put things back in place on the atty. I don't 'position' my cart to align with the bridge because I'm using flat tips. Their position is more important but if I see a cart top that is being melted, I'll try to push the atty into a different position - I've never lost one doing that. And I clean them every 4 days with 151. (used to be every two :) And for going on 2 1/2 months that one mentioned is the only dog. I have one battery that needs something - again weak but not dead.
