Just thought I'd post up something I'd never expect from 901 atomizers...

I've been using the same 2 regular Bauway atomizers from MV since last year. All I do is blow them out each night, rinse them out, and then boil them with a dry burn after once a month. Occasional alcohol bathe. Heavy vaper to.

$14 for 2 Bauways and they've lasted over 5 months!

Oh and using with DIY 3.7 AA box.

You can kill an atty with too little juice or too much...have to be careful...dont let them get too hot. If an atty feels uncomfortably hot on the lips....let it cool a little before pressing that button down again. If it is getting hot without giving you a satisfiying drag...try cleaning it...or adding a little more juice.

Cool! I thought this thread was going to float to the bottom with no replies after a while. Good to see people are having good luck... seems the technology has gotten better from the days when you could buy DSE901 kits on ebay. Love the 510s!!!

I'm going to try the Polident clean soon (denture cleaner). Either my attys need another boil or my batch of nutty caramel wasn't great, even after steeping for a whole day.

Got my first kit at Totally Wicked 3 months ago. It came with 510 atties. I try to rotate them, but sometimes I'll end up using the same one for a week without thinking about it. They're all still working, even one I accidentally ripped the wick out of during the first week. I don't clean them. I did clean them once in alcohol during the second week, but not since. I wipe the threads with tissue often, and blow them out occasionally, but that's it.

It's so frustrating to me when I hear about people getting months of use out an atomizer! I think the longest I ever had one working well was 3 weeks, but I usually don't get more than 1-2 weeks from one. It's not that they die (aside from an occasion bad one that dies in a couple days), it's that they clog up. Usually after a week or two of use, vapor production drops off dramatically and I have to grab a fresh one.

Once they hit that low-vapor point, I try rinsing, but they never really come back to life. I might get another day or two's use from one after that before it's clogged again. I've also tried a couple methods of cleaning them, but again, I get nothing more than maybe a few days additional use before the vapor drops off and I grab a new one.

Is the secret to long atty life something as simple blowing them out every night? I've never done that, so maybe that's my problem?

Before switching to exclusively DIY liquid, I often had atomizers that would drop off in performance. Dissecting one, black shiny crust on the wick and coil was the apparent culprit.

Cleaned using ultrasound and tap water, then dried and dry-burned, the black shiny crust gets burned off and the atomizer was restored to working condition.

Now that I use only PG/glycerine/clear flavor/water:vodka:everclear DIY mixes, there is no black crust forming and atomizers work well for months at a time. YMMV.

Da South!
I had my Halo atty drop off and get weak. Pulled it out and saw how gunked up the wick was so I went with the polident method. Stole a tall shot glass from my better half and let it soak all night with a baking soda tablet. Rinsed it out the next day with some hot water and let it dry, came out super clean and ready for more! Found out you can condition a new atty that way to get rid of the machine oil and stuff that is in them...no more puffing away that nasty taste lol.

My atties have lasted for freaking ever.
I've got one de-bridged and the rest all have their bridge... mostly because I only use my debridged atomizer when I can see to drip right on the coil. Most of the time I miss and it fails to fire.

I've never had one die in a few weeks, I haven't had one die ever and I've been vaping since September of last year. I rotate 5 different atomizers pretty much twice a week. One will start gunking up and I'll either do the denture cleaning method or I'll do a quick vinegar and baking soda clean. Or, if the atomizer is fairly new(one of them is) I'll just do a quick alcohol clean to flush whatever juice was in it out.

People just need to take care of their stuff and remember not to run the atomizers dry.

I'm going to glom on to this thread... lol... i get about 1 week to 10 days out of my DSE 901 regulars 2.8 Ohm... my favorite but will try the Bauway for sure... i go through about 6 to 10 ml a day (way too much i know).
I use a Provari so between 3.6v and 4.5v, they get lots of pressure.
Do you think i should do some daily maintenance?
Maybe we should gauge use by ml of juice used vs. time...
