What horrible taste? After I blow out the primer, all I've ever tasted was the liquid?

Maybe some 'burnt' liquid in the atty? Do you blow them out every once in a while?

Hi domino,

I don't know how to explain the taste but it tastes horrible. I do blow out the primer and I can only assume it is the metal or primer as it has the taste with brand new ones as well as ones that have been used. I've even cleaned them before using and still get that taste.

It would probably help if I could come up with a description of what it tastes like but I really can't.

I don't want to be called whinner again (as I previously have been) but I recently purchased 5 XHV atomizers from one supplier and all 5 went bad within a week (2 weeks warranty) I returned them and supplier said he had gotten a bad batch from China. He took these back and gave me a credit. He took these off of his website. I then bought 4 from another supplier again paying 11.00 each for HV atomizers to use on 6 volt and have had them 2 weeks and 3 have already gone bad.(no warranty on these)

I know I talk about this a lot but I am tired of all the bad atomizers recently. I have some regular 510 atomizers that I have had for month and still going strong. It seems to be the more recent ones going bad. I think the supplier had it right, there is a bad batch.

Domino...I usually blow the primer out , run some PGA in it, blow it out again, then prime it with the juice your gonna use. If you can you can take a drop of the pure flavoring your gonna use on the wick (if you DIY) and then let it sit for a bit.

Another thing I would like to know...what is that crap they use...taste like WD-40 or something.

Then I'm a whiner along with you Martha...I get that way when I have to throw money away.

Burnt antifreeze, the devil's urine and the scent of despair.

juice should not smell like antifreeze. If it does, somebody did not put enough flavoring in it or it is near expiration.

If you blow out the primer and do a dry burn then drip your favorite juice onto the wick to reprime it, and it still tastes like poo, you most likely burnt the wicking material. If this happened eventually the horrible taste will go away, but it will take some time and anger management. I would not recommend inhaling anything that tastes BAD.

Flooding atomizers and/or getting e-juice that tastes like poo often give atomizers a bad name. The factory filler fluval material inside new cartridges can only be reused a few times as well. It will taste bad very quickly.

As far as 510 atomizers go, the "knockoffs" perform good. Just not nearly as good as a genuine atomizer on the intended 3.7 volts.

I don't know what the manufacturers are doing, but I've run into a lot of bad atomizers. I purchased five wide bands and received them around April 7th, and I just popped open my fourth one today.

Before this pack, the five pack of wide bands I purchased earlier had two duds. I'm giving the LR atomizers a try, I hope that they last a bit longer. But damn, before all of these atomizers started to go to crap a five pack used to provide me three or four months of excellent flavor and vapor production.

It is safe to assume that.. on average.... the LR atties won't last nearly as long as the standards.

If you are trying to get longevity, then the LR atties are a mistake.

Since I started vaping, not one of my atomizers has died. I've got eight, five of which have never been used. I rotate weekly between three of them. All of them work fantastic. I rip out the fiberglass wick underneath the metal wick (I feel it is unneeded), and clean the atty I'm in the process of using every 2-3 days with a hot water soak and dry burn (to evaporate all of the water). I don't use any alcohol or fancy cleaning methods... I consider myself an average vapor at about 2.5-3ml a day...

I worry, like everyone else, about not having enough atomizers... I too would like to see a more reliable long lasting atty come out, but I really don't think it should be the #1 priority of suppliers.

I'm hoping they will give me a couple of weeks each on average. The regular 510 atomizers have been dying on the average of every week for me. If the LR atomizers do last a bit longer, I'll just wait it out until the manufacturers get their crap together and/or the suppliers sell out the bad units.

While I could usually get weeks out of the standard Joye 510 atties.... I go through a LR about once every 4-5 days.

So it's just like the normal 510 atties. They tend to die and drop off for most people, except for a lucky few who say they use them correctly and other people don't :)
