Hello to all :) My 1st post  My hubby & I have been vaping the joye 510 since Oct and loving it. He goes thru atty's like they are going out of style. Just wondering if anyone had any tips to increase the longevity. Mine have lasted around 2 months, but he can go thru 1 in a week! Sure is rough on the pocket book...Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We are also looking at some DIY e-liquid kits. Again, any suggestions would be great! Thanks to everyone! vape on! :vapor:

Welcome to ECF!
I tried the Polident denture cleaner today on an atty that had a very hard draw and it revived it. I had this atty for a month now and was about to just toss it since i tried blowing it out, boiling it in hot water and it still produced hardly any vapor and flavor. Now its working like if it was brand new! I would definitely try this method out since i've seen it recommended a lot on ECF.

What kind of PV is he using and what is going wrong with his attomizers? How they are failing may help someone figure out what to do to help them last longer.

If he's just hard on them, physical damage, or running dry a lot, depending on what kind of PV he's using you might consider using cartomizers. At least they are cheaper to replace every week.

Thanks for the help, guys! I will check out the polident - we've tried everclear, but right now I don't have enough e-juice to 'reprime' them, since I'm waiting on our order from DIYFlavorshack.

We both use the Joye 510 - have considered cartomizers, but am still researching them. I think he smokes them dry & this may be the problem. I'm new to some of the terminology, but will give as much info as I know...believe they are low resistance 510 atty's. We've been vaping e-juice from Vapor4Life - 24mg Dekang, I think. And I'm unsure of the voltage - standard joye 510 is about all I know.

Thanks again! There's so much to consider when it comes to e-cigs - but I'm anxious to learn!!!

You nailed it, and this is even more true for the LR's. Tell him to top off / refill / redrip or whatever you're doing as soon as there is a loss of flavor or vapor. Don't burn them dry, especially not LR's.

Not much to add. You can get away with running a standard atty a little dry once in a while, but the LRs pop. IMO unless he really prefers the LRs I`d get away from them or keep them wet.

I also am a firm believer in just flushing attys in hot water and dry burning, but haven`t done a LR that way.

I agree with this. They have to be wet, can't smoke em' into the ground like the old stuff. Remind your hubby that they are ATOMIZERS meaning they have to atomize something OTHER than air, LOL!

Best of luck to both of you...it's a pain to get used to a lot of this stuff, but so worth it. I thank God for e-cigs everyday.

Really? They're like 10 bucks tops.
If they last a week, that's only like $1.50 per day.
That is well within the affordable range compared to Cigarettes.

What I did with my wife when I started, was just a little math.
I just added up how much I spent on cigarettes, and I budget myself half of that.
For me that worked out to $15 per week.
I literally take $15 every payday (weekly payday, woo hoo) and put it an envelope.
When I need something, I take the $$ from my envelope.

When you do that, it's very easy to absorb those type of expenses.

And like everyone else said, don't vape it dry. Refill as soon as vapor/flavor decreases.

Hope that helps.

:) With all my 'reading up' on this, how have I never come across the highping cart mod...this is awesome, and I'm going to try it now!

Thanks for everyone's tips! 1.50 a day, and vaping in general compare NOTHING to the costs of cigarettes - but hubby has been looking for work since September, so unfortunately even 1.50 is an expense with 2 kids in the house. We'll get there tho - have a feeling this mod will help eliminate wasted juice also! I can't wait to try!

Thanks again! :toast:
