Voltage Output of battery and resistance of Cartomizer coil dictate amount of Heat
Are all your batteries the same Brand and Model?
Are you comparing only Fully charged Batteries?

Taking shorter draws until the battery drain a bit. voltage drops with available power reserve.

Yes, I have 3 batteries of the same type. I can't remember if I've ever compared them fully charged at the same time. When you mean shorter draws, you mean shorter puffs?

If they're moderated batteries, it sounds like the moderation (voltage adjustment to be consistent) has gone awry. When it's about halfway done, the vape shouldn't be so burned. When the battery is nearly empty, the vape should be thin and cool if that's the case.

If the battery isn't moderated, then that's just strange...

Since the same cartomizer gives you a good vape on one battery but not on another, try another cartomizer. It could be that the air flow through that particular cartomizer is just a little tight on that particular battery. If that solves it, don't use that particular cart on that particular battery.

If several different cartomizers act the same, I'd say the battery has something wrong with it.

Going to have to agree with everyone else on this one. I was using an eGo-V V2 Mega with the aClear Vivi Nova Clone tank; and at first, the taste was fine. But after about 2 weeks, every flavor I put in there would taste burnt - new coils/wicks or not. A friend of mine was using the same setup and his was tasting fine. Then after about another week or two, it started to do the same. Now I'm sitting on a Kanger Aero Tank and I can't stop swapping out flavors because the taste is amazing!

Ultimately, try a different cart on that same battery. It's possible that the regulator broke on that battery - but highly unlikely.
