I was pretty excited to get my 510 cartomizers today with all the hype surrounding them. Unfortunately, the first thing I noticed after loading them up was the taste. The atomizers really seemed to bring out the taste of the liquids but for some reason cartomizers had a really rubbery aftertaste to everything I tried with them.

For anyone that owns these cartomizers (with the white mouth plug), try this. Swap out the rubber plugs that come with the cartos with an empty (no polyfill) cartridge. I swear, the taste is at least 20 times better with the swap.

I found the taste problem went away after I let the carto sit, filled and capped for a while. I have no idea if it had anything to do with the soft tip or not. I chalked it up to the dense center stuff taking a while to saturate the first time around. May the soft tip absorbs the flavor a little too? So then you don't taste rubber anymore?

You are totally right. I just popped the rubber caps back on and the flavor is 100% there. I think the catromizers need a sort of "break in period" to produce the right flavors. Hope this thread helps.

Whats the lifespan of one of the cartomizer's at 5/6volts? My 901's only lasted about a week or so with moderate to heavy vaping. just wondering if I should switch to these.
I have not burned one out yet and I'm a heavy Vaper. It seems as though they will get to hot on you before they burn out. Like remove it from your lips or get burned hot.

Ha! That's the other reason I prefer to just use the driptips on my cartos. It seems since I'm not smoking anymore the "callouses" I had from cigarettes are gone and I'm hyper-sensitive to hot stuff on my lips, be it e-cigs, food, hot drinks, etc.
