I just ordered the 2.5 ohm cartomizer from MadVapes....the higher power made me think they get hotter? I am brand new to this, never used a cart before, but my atties seem to be cooling off, lots of puffing, very little vaping, lol. Anyway, how are they different from a regular cart? Do the higher power carts use up the batteries quicker? I am getting a x-power from litecig soon and it comes with carts, so I guess I can compare the two! There does seem to be a lot of different carts out there!

I've been going back and forth between the 2.5 ohm SLB cartomizers from Madvapes and the 3.2 Boges myself. The 2.5 ohm does run hotter and in general tastes/performs a little bit more like a standard 510 atty than the higher resistance cartos do. I definitely prefer cartos to carts/atomizers with the exception of occasional dripping, but I'm not sure yet which of the 2.5/3.2 carts I prefer. The 2.5 ohm ones have a more aggressive throat hit and better vapor production right out of the box, which is great, but I find that they have a greater tendency to get into the "burnt vapor" taste. They are a little bit "fiddlier" for lack of a better term and I feel like you really have to keep them drowned, which are both things that I did not like about the cart/atty setup. The 3.2 carts, on the other hand, have great flavor and last a long time without any fiddling, but sometimes you have to push it a bit to get an acceptable TH and vapor cloud. I think on the whole I may prefer the 3.2s, but it's close and it's good that you ordered the 2.5s to try.

The low resistance ones, I don't have much of an interest in trying, but I'd like to add the genuine Joytech and the new E2s to my comparison list at some point.

You are extremely well informed for a new member. Congratulations.

Boge cartos (both 3.0Ω and the LR-2.0Ω) are the most widely recommended. You can find them both at LiteCig for a very nice price. They are solid and if you keep them topped often and early, they will last. The 2.5Ω cartos from Madvapes (I believe you mean the Bauway cartos, not SLB?) are not very consistent; some work well, some burn very quickly. Be very careful with them.

I also found that 510 cartomizers from a rather unknown vendor, AZ Smoke Free, perform very well on my Rivas (2.4Ω).

Joyetech cartos are worth trying, even though they are a major pain to fill. And they leak. But they taste great. Do not use the condom method to refill them. Dripping through the bottom hole does work, though.

Good luck.

Thanks, you two, I didn't even know they made higher ohms. Guess I'm going to make another new order soon! Love the service from LiteCig, so will probably try the 3.0 next. Where are the 3.2s? One reason for the cartos is I am always topping off my cartridges and my atty won't let me drip, it floods with one drop. (come on, mailman!)

I believe that Madvapes lists them at 3.2Ω. The Vapor Kings at 2.7-3.0Ω. I check them occasionally and they meter at just around 3.0Ω (2.9-3.1)--the standard Boge 510 cartomizers, that is.

Thanks Katya! You're right, the 2.5 ohm cartos are Bauway and not SLB -- not sure where I got that in my head. I'll take a look into your suggestions -- it may be long term that the Bauways are just too inconsistent for me, even though when they are working at peak they work very well indeed. I'd be happy with the standard Boges as my go to if so, but I'd like to add a few more for comparison's sake just the same.

Here, there, everywhere!
I got the Joye 510 carto's as well and was confused on how to fill them. I found the condom method to work quite well so far. I saw no place to fill them with a syringe actually.

Actually I saw someone else post that they just drip the juice right on the metal end and don't even mess with the condom method. It will suck right in drop at a time

I received a five pack of the Ce2-R4 ceramics from MadVapes today. You need to use a syringe to fill them in the recommended way, but I just do away with the seals and use a cut down 510 cartridge as a mouth piece. You can trip in about 10 drops or so and the flavor is just like dripping on a bridgeless atty. I think the secret is the tube from the bottom to the bridge channels the air directly on to the coil and wick. I don't think any of the other cartos has this arrangement. You can see it in the video here. 510 E2 R4 Cartomizers, 2.8-3.0 ohm, 5 pack If you don't want to watch the whole video, be sure and look at the video at 1:20 to 1:30. You can see that the air would enter at the bottom of the tube and exit right at the coil. JD ps If you don't have one already, be sure and pick up one of the 99 cent syringes if your are going to fill them the recommended way.

I haven't tried the Joye 510 cartos, but I didn't like the eGo Mega cartos at all -- and didn't like the plastic, either. I recently switched from using the Boge 510 cartos (for about two months) to using the KR808D-1 Premium cartos (both from litecigusa.net, since they have the lowest prices and shipping fee, as far as I know).

I like the KR808D-1 cartos so much better than the Boge 510 cartos. The cylinder tubes are made of metal, so there's never any plastic taste, and the flavor is better with the KR808D-1 cartos, compared to the Boge 510s. I also don't get the hissing or sizzling sound (this is not the same as crackling or gurgling) using the KR8s that I was getting with the Boge 510s. I bought the 99-cent adapters at goodprophets, which work great. I only had to turn the round connector on the adapter about two full turns counterclockwise to lift it out of the adapter to make a better connection with the round connector on the carto.
