Been eyeing the IkenVape website for a while now due to rave reviews. I also like that Isaac takes a personal interest in his products including doing his own engineering so we don't have to "fix" what we order like so many other products. Although Isaac was out of a few other things I would have liked to try I did order 2 of these cartomizers.

Price was a little high compared to other cartomizers I've tried but you have to factor in that you also get the aluminum drip tip with each one so I feel the price overall was comparable. Not sure what I'm going to do with all these drip tips though. Wow, fast shipping!

Got both cartomizers and checked for DOA. Nope, one metered 2.4 while the other was 2.6 and I'll use these numbers to identify them for this review. Looking more carefully at both of them I noticed the 2.4 one had a visible blue wire in it while the 2.6 one had a white (light tan) wire in it. Hmmm, interesting and wondered what the difference might be.

2.4 Volt Cartomizer: Took this and filled it with 20 drops of my favorite liquid. Oh my god I had juice running everywhere! Filled it like I've always done, few drops on one side, rotate, few drops on other side, rotate, etc. allowing a few seconds for the liquid to soak in each time. Cleaned up the mess and laid the cartomizer on it's side to soak up the liquid for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I picked up this cartomizer and gently blew through the mouth end to check for excess juice. Wow, blew out what I considered to be a lot of juice. Looked inside and it looked dry but thought maybe because you can drip with these I just overfilled it. Screwed it on a 3.7v box mod and puffed away. Got a little vapor but not what I was expecting. Hmmmm. Took the cartomizer off (wow it was hot) and checked it over and discovered a very wet connection. Hmmmm. Dried the connection and again blew through the cartomizer... still got what I thought was a lot of juice out. Screwed the cartomizer onto my 4.8v redneck rig (4 1.2v batteries). Very noisy with the crackling and such but did get vapor. Taste was good except for the metallic taste. Took the metal drip tip off and replace it with a plastic one. Ahhhh, drip tip was the metallic taste. Only got about 10 puffs before I got the dry off taste of being dry. Remembering my previous experience with overfilling so I only put 5 drops in. Still good vapor and taste for a cartomizer. Tried putting this cart back on my 3.7v box mod but each time I did not get much vapor so went back to 4.8v. Used this cart most of the day before it just quit. Checked with meter and sure enough it was dead. So far... not impressed.

2.6 Volt Cartomizer: Got this one out and remembering my previous experiences put in 5 drops. Soaked right in so went ahead and did 5 more. No leaking. 5 more. 5 more. Stopped at 30 drops with no leaking. Okay, like this. Set aside for 15 minutes. Picked it up after 15 minutes and blew through it. Not much juice. This looks promising. Instead of going to the 4.8v device went with the 3.7v instead as this is where I like to vape and what I got these carts for anyways. Wow, good vapor and taste. Tried the metal drip tip again... no, went back to plastic. Used it chain vaping for about 30 minutes and kind of lost flavor. Put in another 20 drops before it looked saturated. Oh a juice hog, huh? Refilled several more times and am also using it this morning. This one works like it should! When you first fill it it is a little noisy with crackling sounds but settles down after a few minutes with only an occasion crackle which I consider normal. Being a cartomizer I need to increase my nic which I also consider normal from my experiences with cartomizers.

Drip Tips: Don't care for the aluminum drip tips that come with these. I've always used plastic and will stay with them as these are very heavy and I get a metallic taste off of them. Might just be me.

Impressions: I'm guessing the 2.4v one was just one of those bad ones that does occur on occasion. No big loss and as hard as we (Isaac) tries it is just going to happen. The 2.6v one is working well but is a juice hog. Have to see how it works over time. Vapor and flavor are good for a cartomizer. Still wondering if the different color wires inside might have been a factor in some way though.

Conclusions: I will continue to order from IkenVape and would recommend this vendor to others due to his dedication to his products. My experiences with the 2.4v one I believe is just one of those things that happens every once in a while. I look forward to trying some of Isaac's other products especially anything in the 2.0 to 1.5 ohm range as I like staying at 3.7v. I only use the 4.8v rig for those times when I need a harder hit.
