For a little over a month now I've been vaping pretty exclusively with an 801 at 5V. Love the flavor and all but now and again found myself pulling pre draws to get a stronger or more fulfilling throat hit. I also only vape 11mg juice.

Got my 510 attys in the mail today, thinking it will be fun to try something new and hoping it will satisfy my desire for a little stronger hit.

I've only tried one atty so far, and initially it was pretty awesome, as far as not needing to draw for nearly as long to get a pretty darn decent hit.

However, I'm having a heck of a time keeping the juice from being drawn up into the cart via the two little draw holes, (then the gurgling begins). Oh, I am dripping exclusively and the carts is empty, (no filler). Has anyone else been having this problem or suggestions to avoid it?

At first I thought maybe I was drawing way too hard as I have on the 801, so I've tried my best to curb that. Then, of course I think maybe I am flooding the atty, (probably true on both counts :) ).

But ... after I drip two drops, (even if I've just blown it out nicely), I seem to only get three maybe four really nice hits before it starts tasting bad. With the 801 this was a sure sign I needed to drip some more. So I pull off the cart and already there is considerable amount of juice starting to accumulate on the flat sides of the cart. Is this common? and or any suggestions to avoid?

Is it just me or is there a delicate balance that needs to be found on the amount of juice and great tasting hits?

Well, I didn't get a lot of quick responses here, but ... I tried a little something that has helped immensely.

I simply cut off all but maybe an 1/8th inch from the bottom of the cartridge. I mean the part below the two suction holes where the flats are. You (or I), have to be careful not to cut too much as it nears the beginning of a channel for each hole which I didn't want to expose, but also to leave enough to make a tight fit when putting the cartridge back on the atomizer.

Anyhow, what I had found was happening to me, was when I would first drip, my draw was apparently strong enough to suck some of the ejuice up the side of the atty where it became trapped against the atty wall and the flat of the cart. This caused a lot of gurgling if I drew too hard and also only gave a few good draws before it started tasting bad. No wonder it wasn't lasting long, half the liquid was becoming trapped up on the side of the cart. Then, when I removed the cart to drip some more, I had the juice there on the flats which could potentially be a big mess after some time.

So, probably nothing new or that big of a deal but it seems to have cured my problem. Now having hardly any flat remaining and much more distance between the cart end and the element I'm finding all the juice stays down in the bottom as it should :) I'm getting many more good hits now, and when I remove the cart, dry! Yay.

Of course I imagine you wouldn't want to do this if you are using the carts to hold the juice, but if you drip and it's just a mouthpiece, what the heck?

Hmm, now I'll have to research on that too, haha. Wonder if it's compatible with the 510 adapter for my prodigy? (I'm guessing not?). And as awesome as dipping sounds, it does sound sort of inconvenient at work and also in my garage, hmm, thinking the spiders and bugs might love a little tray of juice sitting out, haha.
Honestly though, do you just dip and then put a mouth piece back on? I mean sort of like dripping in that sense?

Yes i put juice in a contact lense case and dip....tough while im driving! The 510 wicking and atty's frustrated me so much i bought a KR808d-1 and GreenSmoke/E9 both great for ease of use. I think the 510 battery with 306 atty is the way to go at least when i'm at home. Pick up the 306 at Rocky Mountain Vapor for $8. Free shipping if you spend more than $14. Great supplier though a bit light on stock right now. Guarantee you'll love it...
