Hey everyone!

Thanks for reading this! I have been smoking for years, and quitting was a breeze with the cigarette like liberro realis, which I was recommended for the purpose by people here. I really enjoyed the vaping, trying new flavours, the health benefits etc, but went back to regular cigarettes a year or so ago due to a) stupidity, and b) problems with the ecig I got (short battery life, reminding me too much of a regular ..., gross fluffy stuff inside, constant fiddling with it). I didn't think much more about it putting it down to a bad lot for me, until I saw a friend with a different type of vaporiser, and it inspired me to start looking again, and reminded me off all the great things about vaping!

From the research I have done, the 510 or the ego seem really popular. I cannot for the life of me, however, figure out which batteries or 'tops' go with which, what the subtle differences are, and so on. It is very confusing for a newbie, there are so many options! I have a budget of about £50.

So I have been left with these questions, that I am hoping some kind soul will help with...

Is it only the clearomizers that don't have the fluffy fill in them? It really appeals to me to have just the tank part without the fluffy fill, as I just got too grossed out at the thought of it, and like the idea or properly cleaning it. It is the lack of fluffy stuff which draws me to the clearomizer, but if there are other options with this no-fluff feature I am open to hearing them.

I have read some reviews for the clearomizers, saying that they leak, and crack. Is this still true?

So, if I do go for a clearomizer, what battery will give me the longest life (or how long would each one last), and which clearomizer head (long wick, short wick etc). I want something simple and easy to fill and use for a beginner, but also something sturdy and good quality, that will last on both a day to day usage basis, and in terms of time in the longer run. I don't mind about the automatic/manual battery thing, so whatever you guys recommend on that front will be fine for me!

I do also quite like the colourful options - at the moment, the more it does not look like a cigarette, the better, as that was a problem I had last time.

Thanks in advance for any replies. If there are any parts that I have not made clear just ask and I will explain better!

Abby

Hi awittyname and welcome back.
Here's great kit from a reputable UK vendor- battery info- 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before needing recharge
The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

After 5 posts wait 1 hr for the ECF servers to reset and you can post in the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/uk-forum/
ECF member Chrissie has a discount code for Vape Escape and other vendors:

And here's review of the Kgo (exactly the same PV as the Riva)

Best of Luck.

I'm across the pond so not familiar with vendors where you are but do want to say one thing: stay away from automatics. Manuals ensure that no juice leaks into your battery.

Edit: came back realizing how confusing things were for me... sooo...
with a manual, the battery is sealed and with an automatic its not so that drawing alone starts it instead of a manual button doing that. if you're not very careful filling whatever you use with it whether clearo, tank, carto, etc you can leak into the battery with an auto since its not sealed.

Thanks for the replies so far - it has led me to some new options - the ego tank. Any others without the polyfill stuff? I really hated the thought of that stuff - it just seems to unhygienic! I am worried that the clearomizers will break, so I am open to other non-polyfil options if there are any. It seems the ego battery lasts longer than the 510. How well do the others recommended here work?

Vapoor eyes er - what is mah and PV?

patin - thanks for your advice, I will steer clear of the automatic - safety first after all! Any good manual ones you can recommend? I hear they have a habit of turning on in ones pocket?

As a next step, I might look for something called an ego Twist -- it's a variable voltage eGo, lets you experience some higher power vaping if you wish. It can be used with any cartomizer or atomizer that fits a 510.

Classically I would have recommended a regular eGo or Riva, for longer battery life, but the variable voltage capability of the Twist lets you try something else that a lot of people end up looking into over time.

If you do go the Twist route, look for cartomizers/atomizers in the 2 - 2.5 ohm resistance area, which lets you experience a wide range of power. Low resistance, like dual coil 1.5 ohm cartos, don't play nice on a Twist, as they run into current limits; even if you set a higher voltage, the output of the Twist will top out.

mAh = milliamphours, the current capacity of the battery. In general, more mAh = a good thing, it lets you either use lower resistance or run longer between battery recharges.

PV = personal vaporizer, another term for e-cigarette. Many of us call them PV to distance ourselves from cigarettes.

Hi! "510" can refer to two things: the little "cig-a-like" batteries, but also the threading inside of an eGo:

Vapoor eyes er - what is mah and PV?
PV is ecig or personal vaporizer. If you hover your mouse over "PV" a word will appear- anything here at ECF underlined and you can "hover" over it.

If the battery is 1100 mah (milliamperes) then it should last about 10 hrs before recharge (100 mah= 1 hr vaping before recharge)

Any others without the polyfill stuff? I really hated the thought of that stuff
The 2 non filler clearomizers/ tanks I've used are the Ce5 and the Mini Vivi Nova.
Clearomizer (includes the Stardust and the Vivi Nova Tank)- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable clearos come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply $3.00) and easily (10 secs) replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My Vivi Nova heads are lasting about 8 weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw.

It seems the ego battery lasts longer than the 510. How well do the others recommended here work?
The 510 is a mini cig sized PV- usually 180- 280 mah. Don't mix this up with "510" threaded PVs- the most popular threading.
The eGo is a class of PV.
JoyTech eGo- fires at 3.4- 3.5 volts
Riva/ Kgo fires at 3.7 volts
They are both made by large and reputable companies.

Keep in mind that these small delivery systems are mass-produced little pieces of plastic, designed to be disposable. Some work better/last longer than others, even the ones made in the same batch. I suggest you do not name them or get emotionally involved. You will only get hurt and heartbroken.

Hi, congratulations on your decision & good luck!

I'm very new to vaping (only the second week) so the others can give more educated recommendations but I thought I would add - Yes something like the ego twist or the spinner (I just got both) are worth it.

I thought I would add my 2 cents, as I wondered why bother when I first heard about it ... but having got them in my hot little hands I would say to any newcomer yes go for the variable option - they (at least those two) are easy to use and really enhance the vaping experience. (also I like clearomizers and love the mini nova clearomizer)

Thanks for the help everyone! I took the plunge and based on everyones advice have ordered a spinner, a random cheaper 900 mah ego battery as backup, a Kanger T3 and a mini vivi nova, and some juice. I CAN'T WAIT to say goodbye to normal cigarettes!!! This should be so much better than the cig-a-like I used the first time! Now to make sure I don't get addicted to buying more stuff - I can see how this becomes a habit, still got to be cheaper than smoking!

I keep telling myself that it will get cheaper than smoking. LOL (Actually, it has, but just a bit so far.) Indeed, for a lot of us it's as much a hobby as a habit because, hey, it's fun! I'm trying to use some restraint, but I'm fairly certain that VISA wants me to throw caution to the wind and just go ahead and get that Provari.

Good luck. Great idea in having a back-up, too Whatever it takes to get off the analogs and stay off of them is worth it.

I started with an eGo-c for 20$ and went directly to a four wick atomizer called the v-core 2.0. I really despize cartomizers,as they taste like ... for the first few fills. bleah! Im currently looking into moving to a genesis style atomizer, as I like to tinker with things, and can control the resistance with my coil wire since i dont have a variable voltage battery.
