510 / eJuice / Cartomizer Advice

Hey all.

First: I bought a Blu, not really happy with it. Vapor turns burny-flavored way too quickly, cartridges suck, etc. Usual complaints I've read. I tried removing the inner cart and fiddling with it, no dice...

So, as an intermediate step, I'm looking for advice regarding the use of a 510 cartomizer on the Blu battery. Has anyone gotten good results?

Any advice on where to pick up cartomizers (that won't singe the packing, as I've read that's a problem) for reasonable cost and shipping? Are prefilled cartomizers worth it, or should I get the juice and empty cartomizers? Are cartomizers even worth it to begin with?

Here's the big question: I used to be a Marlboro Menthol Light smoker for six years, smoked Newports for about four years prior to the switch -- the newports started injuring me. I'm looking for advice on making a vape that tastes like or close to a Marlboro Menthol Light, if such a thing is even possible.

Sorry for all the questions... I've been lurking for a while, but all of the options are a little overwhelming and confusing at first :-|

Thanks!

First off, I am not too sure what a Blu is, but I swear by the Joye510. I have purchased 4 510 kits so far. Not because they break, but because I love them and wanted extras. As for cartomizers, I buy mine from Electro-Nic-Stix the best electronic cigarette in the usa. Jason is awesome, and has great prices and fast shipping. Cartomizers from anywhere else are a waste of your hard earned money. The tops are glued on, and have to be thrown away/can't be refilled. Jasons are refillable, and come empty so you can put your favorite juice in them and vape away. :)
As for buying pre-filled carts or juice, BUY JUICE!!!! Its cheaper, and the prefilled carts are GROSS and don't last long. As for searching out that perfect flavor, dont limit yourself. there are soo many good flavors out there, and I think he actually has the menthol you are looking for.

Oh. And you were asking if cartomizes are worth it. I think so, I have both cartomizers, and atomizers and cartridges. For the price, I think cartomizers are the best. They last over a week each, and you can get a 5pack for $8.88. Atomizers are $10+ for 1. They sometimes CRAP OUT after a week AND you have to buy cartridges. I wasted a LOT of money in the beginning before I figured out what works best. I wish someone would have made me a shopping list and said here. Buy this. Vape. Be happy!
So.. Here is the list I wish someone would have given me.
Go to Electro-Nic-Stix the best electronic cigarette in the usa
Purchase:
hydro 510 starter kit. (You'll get two regular atomizers, two batteries, a pack of cartridges and a charger)
empty cartomizers (You need to figure out if you like atomizers or cartomizers)
empty cartridges (If your going to by puying atomizers)
510 direct passthrough (you'll thank me later ;) )
spare mega battery (You can never have too many batteries)
LOAD UP ON YUMMY NIQUID Every "menthol" smoker I have turned to vaping has decided that they dont even want mentol niquid. they like the fun fruity/foody ones best. So you never know what you're going to love until you try them! And at the price, you can get quite a few.

Hope this helps :)

I did get Blu e-cigs and they sucked. Within the first week everything died and I sent them back. Then I was without a e-cig and went back to the nasty stuff LoL But then I did find Awesome Vapor, Arno has been a great guy and helped me out a lot. I got the 510 and like 20 diff bottles of e-juice 2 atty's and 2 batterys and came up to about 75$. I went with him cause I did talk to him a lot and he does help out if you need it but I would go with him or TW.

Totally Wicked juice is WAAAY expensive. 23.99 for a bottle of Chinese juice is CRAZY. It comes in a pretty bottle, but is the same stuff Vapor for Life has for 12.50.

Tasty Vapor has the BEST juice, and eGo's for $55.00 http://www.tastyvapor.us/
Nicotine Nirvana has GOOD American Made juice for a good price, and FREE shipping http://www.nicotinenirvana.com/
Good prophets has great Prices, and Free shipping http://www.goodprophets.com/

Be sure to visit these vendors here in the vendor's section, or there personal forums here to look for discount codes, as well as ANY vendor you might want to order from.

Thanks for the replies, all.

I'm sure this is covered somewhere, but I'm not seeing it... what's the difference between the eGo 510 and the "regular" 510?

Also, since I'm going to (I guess) experiment with both attys and cartys (I guess this is a good abbreviation?), is there a suggested supplier for good attys? I'd be really ...... if a $10 atty blew up after a week.

Regarding the pass-through, do these exceed the "normal" voltage a 510 atty/carty would see from a regular battery pack?

You're right, The cartomizer is one piece. It holds more liquid, because it is the length of an atomizer + a regular cartridge. It has the stuffing in it just like a regular cartridge. The only real difference is that cartomizers aren't made to last, they are under $10 for a 5 pack and they maybe last 1-2 weeks. Atomizers are made to last a bit longer, but they are around $10 a piece, and sometimes crap out after a week or two.

The ego is a bigger battery then the standard 510. I haven't charged my ego in three days, if that gives you an idea of how long the batteries can last. You use 510 attys on the ego, and 510 cartos will also work.

As for atty's that last a long time, I like the "Magma" attys from volcanoecigs.com. I've been rotating 4 of them since January and I've never had one die. They don't burn as hot as the standard 510 attys so you get better flavor and throat hit. They aren't a low resistance atty, just a lower resistance atty.

The Volcano products are compatible with your Blu cig (l88b) and the Magma products are 510 compatible. The carts for the magma are slightly different from standard 510 carts. The hold more liquid and are in two pieces. I like them better then standard 510 carts.

Litecigusa.net is also a good supplier. Free shipping over $15 and he ships fast and usually has a great selection of products. The juice is dekang (unless it's Rath) but I've been happy with what I've tried so far (mostly menthol).
