Okay so I got my first e cig yesterday, the 510.I'm really enjoying it so far,but I have a few questions about refilling carts, atty's,and batts.
This is how I filled my empty cart today, please critique,as I really want to make sure i'm doing things well.
While I don't have the straw mod(yet)I simply dripped around ten drops on the fiber while using a toothpick to get some juice going towards the bottom(just kinda put it down from the side to get a little opening). After I saw it looked nice and slushy,I fluffed it around a little with the toothpick to make sure it was absorbing right, then a made sure the fiber was slightly below the top of the cart.I received great vapor production from this, but I guess I'm just weary about the way I'm doing things because I only have two atty's.
What are the main things that can hurt your atty?Drags too long? Not topping off when you should?Things such as that?If the fiber is protruding a little bit above the top, does it hurt your atty?Is it possible for the fiber the move around while you're going about your day?
Thank you all

Sounds to me like you're doing just fine. Try the Straw Mod though, and you'll see a difference in juice flow that will astound you.

The fiber doesn't shift much at all (at least mine never has) unless you replace it and don't put in enough. Beware of putting too much in as well, as that will actually impede the flow.

You can burn out an atty by getting it too hot (dragging too long or dry-dragging), but I've never had that happen with my 510 or my 306a. In fact after about 6 months I've only had one atty go bad, and it actually fell apart rather than stopped working, but I've already got about 1/2 dozen of each as spares anyway. My worst nightmare would be to find myself vape-less!

If the fiber is above the top, you might notice a burnt taste, but that's about all.

There are lots and lots of video tutorials available on YouTube and websites that explain how to clean, mod, and otherwise care for your new eCig. Watch a few (or many) until you get a better idea of what you need to know. And as always, ask questions of the experts here on the forum.

Happy vapeing!

First of all....Welcome!

Sounds like you have a good grip on the refilling. Main thing is keep your atty wet, don't let it dry out. Also, try not to flood the atty, it only reduces it's performance. The cart mods are a good idea to look into, as these will help prevent a dry atty.

Good luck.

I would recommend this method for refilling your 510 carts as it works great for me.

1 - Pull filler out of cart with tweezers.
2 - Hot water rinse both filler and cart completely.
3 - Pat filler completely dry on paper towel.
4 - Shake excess water out of cart and blow or use paper towel to get ALL moisture out.
5 - Put 10 drops of e-liquid into empty cart.
6 - Gently push filler back into cart and using tweezers grab filler, push it all the way down into the juice and pull back up so filler is level with top of cart.
7 - Add about 4-6 more drops onto filler until bubble forms.
8 - Wipe excess bubble with paper towel.
9 - Drop 2 drops of liquid directly onto atomizer coil.
10 - Reassemble and vape.

Good luck,

PS. I use the same method with the FPTB and PTB mods.

Uhm, Ragman's advise is good - if you want to change flavour, or something like once a week, or if the cart starts to taste funny … But every time you refill?

Try the straw mod, and do remove some of the original stuffing, because most of the time, there is too much in them anyway, and that does not get better with the straw mod. You'll see a world of difference.

I dont do it everytime I refill, most times I just top off. But yes, if Im going on a trip or am going to be on the road all day, I will do this method to 2 carts and put the rubber cap on them. 2 Carts filled this way will last me a full day of semi-heavy vaping.

if a filled cart is equal to about 3-4 cigarettes and I used to smoke 10 a day, this does it for me. Besides, to me its worth the 2 minutes it takes to do for the best flavor, TH, and Vapor. Hey, i figure Im not spending $7 a day anymore...I can spare the 2 minutes.

I can understand how it would get tedious for most tho.

I have heard great things about the straw mod. I will need to try that.
