Dry atomizers, flooded atomizers, and wicking
Basically, you want to keep your atomizer happy with plenty of juice, but not too much as to flood it.

A good sign that it's flooded is that it gets a little harder to draw on and you get little or no vapor.
Flooding it, however, won't hurt it at all, and you can just blow out the extra juice.

Letting it get too dry, on the other hand, is not good for the atomizer supposedly.
But regardless of whether it is bad for the atomizer or not, you still don't want to do it.

You can tell it is too dry when it starts to taste like crap.
A nasty sort of burnt plastic type of taste.

One reason it might get too dry is if you burn through the juice faster than it can wick up more.
That is why people experiment with different kinds of filler materials to use in their cartridges.

If you take only a drag or two every now and then, you should be fine.
But if you use these like a cigarette, the wicking process will have trouble keeping up.
There are ways to deal with this, and people have different methods that work better for them.

And of course, when the cartridge is running low on juice, it needs topping off for this reason.

Also, getting little fibers from the wicking material caught on your atomizer bridge can give you a nasty taste, so do not twist the cartridge once you put it on the atomizer or you will greatly increase your chances of getting fibers caught on there. And remove the ones that are there now with tweezers.

What happened to the Chargers? man I dont know what you can say about a pro bowl kicker missing 3 fg 2 from less than 40 yrds

I use the 510 exclusively. I have a five pack of mega manual batteries, 5 attys and the 5 port charger from TW. I have tried the Lipton PTB, dripping and Fluval. I have pulled out the fibers from the atty on some, and on some not. I have tried the vinegar method of cleaning the atty and the vodka method as well as my own method of sticking pin between each of the turns of the coil to break up the gunk. If I want to try a totally new or different favor, I flush the atty with plain PG and blow it out to insure a favorless fresh atty. I prefer Fluval as a filler, but pease take note that the Fluva box directs to thoroughly rinse Fluval before using. I found that this makes for a cleaner taste. I have taken to keeping my liquids in the refrigerator. I got a funny taste after leaving my PG out at room temp for a few weeks and do not know if the supplier had a prob or if it should have been refrigerated, but for $6 bucks, it is not worth knocking a supplier since all of their other stuff was great.
