I purchased a e cig from jac vapour - fairly large in width but short in length and the flavour I must say is outstanding. Apple from TW is so flavoursome, sweet, perfect hit, extremely more ish. However due to the rave reviews of 510 in general I bought a 510 MANUAL tank - the problem I have with it, is that firstly I have to draw too hard to get smoke which is frustrating when I need a hit, also the taste is somewhat too hot so alot of the flavour is lost...

Now could anyone point me on what i'm doing wrong? I have tried countless flavours and vg pg types consistencies etc on the 510 and i must say it is OK but I do prefer my standard automatic cartomizer e cig.

It's a shame because the appearance and tank system of the 510 really appeals to me. Is there any similar e cig which will give me what I'm looking for? What are some of the nicest looking or smartest looking e cigs? The 510 tank is really smart to look out - thanks all

Unfortunately I think that's just the way it is with Joye tanks. I used the eGo tanks (types A and B) and try as I might (went through 11 atomizers total) I just could not like them, and I really, really wanted to. Thin vapor, anemic flavour, not a lot of throat hit. For some they are satisfying enough but for me, they just didn't cut it, and I think this is the case for you, too. The tanks just don't really work very well compared to cartos or CE2s.

If that's the case... since i Have a tank atomizer, will a normal cartridge fit on it, or would I need a separate cartomizer/atomizer?

thanks

You'd need a separate atty, unfortunately. The tank atties are specially designed to work specifically with the tanks. They won't wick liquid from a regular cart. The battery is fine though, so I'd get yourself a nice Boge 2.5ohm carto and enjoy. They're highly regarded and work very well even on a 510.

Fortunately, you don't have to use tanks. You can vape the way most people vape - with cartomizers. Tanks are a new invention and apparently attractive to people. But IMO they can't top cartomizers. Get yourself some Boge standard resistance cartomizers and learn to use them. With slim 510 you have to stick with standard resistance. If you have manual batteries you can also use a normal 510 atty (standard resistance only, not LR) and drip tip. And BTW if you have auto batteries be extremely careful with cartomizers - make sure a carto is NOT going to leak before putting it on an auto battery - you can damage or kill auto batteries with leaks.

If you want to use the hotter LR cartos then you need a fat battery model like Ego or Riva 510 (Liberty-Flights recommended since they have real Joye Ego and the hotter Riva 510 kits - press the 20% off upper left first) or a 3.7v box mod (see the Buying & Selling Mods section of ECF for simple box mods)

And a reminder - never charge anything in a 510-T charger but a 510-T battery. A 510-T charger can fry standard 510 batteries and even Ego or Riva (2 people fried Ego batteries). If you buy anything with similar threads, label the 510-T charger and batteries. And if you get an Ego or Riva etc, label that charger too because the fast charger cable of a fat battery model can damage slim batteries.

How I fill a cartomizer (Vapor4Life for KR8 or Boge 510 for 510 which are all soft-cap w/ no inner seals and defined central air channel)

I use thin (20% or less VG) liquid or Vapor4Life WOW liquids, preferably clear liquids w/ no sediment

Filling a blank carto - I pop off the soft cap (unbent paperclip carefully in the mouth hole, not catching any wires or stuffing!). I hold some tissue against the threaded end hole. I tilt the carto and slowly drip 18 drops (per ml of carto capacity and these are 1ml cartos) onto the inner wall of the carto so it slides down into the stuffing while I rotate the carto. Then I wait 15 seconds or so then I drip however many more drops the stuffing wants to soak up. Then I do clean-up. If it is leaking, I clean that up. Then I tilt the open end down into the tissue and puff hard a few times into the threaded end to clear any juice out of the central air channel (I want to see light through there). If it looks too wet above the stuffing, I gently touch a bit of tissue to the stuffing (otherwise that liquid will be gurgling or spitting in my mouth). Then since this was a fresh fill of a blank, I now let it settle. I lay the carto on different sides for 15-20 minutes. Then it should be ready to vape. If you use thicker juices than me, then you may need to let it settle longer.

As I am vaping - if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or tastes bit off or the carto is getting unusually warm, I will take the carto off the battery, open it, add 6-8 drops or whatever it seems to want (I will either hold a bit of tissue against the threaded end hole just in case, or skimp on how many drops I add to make sure I avoid drips if I have no tissue). I check to make sure the threaded end is dry, give it a couple of puffs into the threaded end to make sure the air channel is clear, and continue to vape.

Note - it is easy for me to "open" my main cartos for adding juice because I replace the white end cap with a plastic or delrin drip tip (I get them at LiteCigUSA.net). So I can easily pull that out with my fingers when I add juice and it keeps my lips cool if the carto is hot.
