Hey there everyone,

I've been lurking the forums for awhile now, reading everything i can about ecigs. I must say this forum has been great... But anyways, I'm looking for some answers here in terms of purchasing an e-cig.

Been smoking analogs (newport & anything menthol) for ~8 years now, half pack a day. Looking to move away and into vaping. Currently am using a BLU e-cig (so far ok, but batteries do not last) also looking for better flavor and throat hit.

Looking to purchase the TW Titan 510 tank because of the battery sizes (220mah & 340mah). I have also been looking at the Ego-T and Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.

Would the 510-t be suitable for half pack a day smoker? Would this satisfy my needs? I like the 510-5 due to the size, not looking to carrying around a cigar sized e-cig all day

9 months ago I said those exact same words and now I carry around a pair of pipe bombs all day. There is no right or wrong answer to your question. The 510-t is going to give you longer battery life over the BLU and if you get manual batteries and a PCC than you probably will get through the day. I was a 2 PAD smoker and outgrew analog sized PV's in quick order, but at 1/2 PAD you may find that you're ok. Plus the gGo/Riva batteries are not as large as you think they are (at least that's what I said when I finally saw them up close and personal). Just keep vaping and avoid the cancer sticks and eventually you will find your groove.

Hi toxicfusion and welcome to ECF. "IF" you ever decided to go upgrade your cartomizers you would need a minimum of 650 mah batt. 1000 mah would be better. Tanks are great IF you buy the right one and many new vapers have issues with them. You could always buy a base unit and after getting used to cartomizers purchase a good add on tank for anywhere from $10- $25.00. Make sure you buy manual batteries as they are less prone to damage from juice and put YOU in control of the vaping experience.
    Batt Info.
100 mah= 1 hour vaping on Standrad Resistance single coil cartomizer before recharge
using a low resistance cartomizer dual coil cuts down on the battery life considerably.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping with standard resistance atomizer or cartomizer (slim ecigs can only use standard resistance 2.5-3 ohms, not the hotter lower ohms stuff)

And for -T tanks, about 50% of buyers have issues with them and end up switching to cartomizers for everyday vaping so also buy some cartomizers Boge 3 ohm for slim model, Boge 3 ohm or the hotter 2 ohm for fat battery models).

And NOTE - the real auto 510-T charging cables can damage all other 510 batteries. I don't even recommend autos ever for any model unless there is a physical infirmity. Most people here use and recommend manuals - harder to damage or kill with juice leaks and easier to get a good hit. Manuals also won't turn on accidentally in wind or vibration. 510 manuals are especially nice because their threaded end is totally sealed metal and it's near impossible to damage or kill them with juice leaks.

Totally wicked are fairly pricey. You could very likely get a 510 or 510-T model cheaper elsewhere.

If you want a cig sized ecig you might want to consider the Kr808d-1 as well from these vendors:

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits

    http://bloogplanet.com/starter-kits.html

    G6 Basic Starter Kit - G6 E-Cig

    Vapor King E-Cigarette Starter Kits

The main advantage of the Kr808d-1 over the 510 is the higher voltage which in turn creates warmer vapour. A 510 is regulated to 3.2 volts but the Kr808d-1 is regulated to 3.6 volts.

They're slightly thicker than a 510 so they have a little higher mah rating as well.

    Just a thought :)

I can highly recommend the Riva 510. It's actually slightly shorter than my KR808 cig clone, albeit more stout, and is very pocket friendly. Since it is 510 threading, like the Blu cig you currently have, you can use your Blu cartos on it without an adapter. Liberty Flights is a great vendor. Be sure to click on the link at the top of every page on their website for a 20% off coupon (october20). As they are 650mah batteries, one charge should last you all day. Even with only a half a pack a day habit, those 220mah and 340mah, you will be charging more often than you like.
Also, there are plenty of 510 tank options, should you decide you want that in the future. For now, I suggest sticking with cartos - Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Boge Cartomizers

Good point. My shorter Kr808 model is almost the same length as my ego

The 650 batteries really aren't that much bigger than a standard cig lookalike.

Another reason we try to suggest a larger battery is that a small cigarette sized ecig may not have the power you need to quit analogs. Most people quickly move up to a larger PV with more battery power and we always try to save new people the money that skipping the small cigarette sized ecig will cost you.

You can pick up a single kr808 for like $8 here Nebula Express Starter Kit if you want to try it out without breaking the bank.

Each 100 mah is roughly equal to one hour of light vaping so you'd want to be looking at around the 650mah level for all day or half a day one one battery. A 510 is going to be a little longer run time than the blu but not by much.

I recommend the Volt kit by SmokelessImage.com
    why?
Because it satisfies in vapor, throat hit, handling, and flavor. The Volt keeps a steady current of 3.6 throughout the life of the battery until it needs charging. (most batteries peter out as you vape them, like a flashlight that dims more and more until it dies. The Volt keeps a steady bright!).
Make sure you have at least 2 batteries, so you can use one while one is charging.
Being a light smoker, you don't need tanks and humongous cartomizers at this point.
Good luck to you and congrats for deciding to make the switch from smoking!!

wow - thank you everyone for all the informal posts :)... the pic comparison with the eGo vs 510-t / KR808s is a huge help. Pictures online made the ego's look and seem much larger than what they actually are.

I placed order late last night for the Totally Wicked Titan 510 Tank, I thought the price was reasonable with it including prefilled tanks, 220mah and 340mAh batteries. Including 20% off discount. Also ordered samples from TheVapor Room... seems like that place had above avg reviews.

Was also reading, I could use the KR808-d1 batteries on the 510 attys? Will need an adaptor though. Because of all the reading ive been doing and all your awesome replies, i think the added voltage from the KR808 battery would give a better vape and flavor?

so excited for the Titan 510.. Hope my expectations are not too high!

Only concern floating is the tank size of the 510-t model, how long a filled tank will last me. Is that reason you guys are recommending cartomizers?

Almost all of us have a smaller, slim ecig that we don't use anymore. eGo-T batteries (with the on-off switch) are good with a carto screwed on the end. Cartos don't leak and you can fill up two or three spares and go all day on a charge with a 1000mah battery and a few spare cartos. All that will fit in your pocket with no leaking concerns. If you need to charge, you can do that in the car with a USB adapter or at your work location. A spare battery is always recommended just in case, especially if you are a constant vaper.
