I'm not sure if they sell the "bare bones" kits for eGo's or not. The only thing that made me go for a Screwdriver Vs. an eGo is that the screwdriver has totally separate batteries that you can easily replace whereas with the eGo you mus replace the whole bottom part of the e-cig, since the battery is built into the body like a lot of other smaller "stock" models. But with that said, batteries that are built in like the eGo do provide more style that can be tailored to fit the looks of the whole device.

Personal prefrence totally.

Next step? You're thinking right..eGo. Use the same atomizers and same carts.
Personally, I feel the draw, vape and taste, whatever you want to call it, is far better than my old 510 and I think the cone makes a considerable difference. The eGo kit at Cignot includes two complete eGos for $78. Plus very fast shipping. Especially fast to you, being just across the state line from Cignot Chicago area.
I vaped maybe 2-3 hours with my 510. My eGo batts last me a minimum of 8 hours and have lasted as long as 11.

Hawaii! Yay haha
I often think of upgrading from my 510. Every so many days I shop online, filling shopping carts, then having second thoughts.

What keeps me from buying a new e-cig is that I've found so many things to do with the 510 by cruising through this forum.

Have you tried direct dripping? If not, research how to remove the wick from the 510 atty, then do some dripping. It's amazing how different your e-liquids will taste. You can buy a drip tip for it, too.

Maybe look into getting a usb passthrough for the 510, which lets you vape at a higher voltage than using a battery.

Or, you could get some atty adapters for your 510, and try different model attys, like the 401, 801, 901...

Some food for thought :)

There are various ways to "upgrade" from the 510:
1. One is by making the 510 experience more convenient by using 510 cartomizers – no dripping or frequent cartridge topping off required.

2. Second is the one you've been thinking of: increasing the number of puffs between battery charges, e.g., with the eGO (650 mAh), Riva (750 mAh), the Hello 016 (1300 mAh), or a 3.7V mod (900 - 3000 mAh, not counting the wimpy 320 mAh 10440 battery).

4. Another is by increasing the intensity of the vape, either by increasing the battery voltage or by reducing the atomizer resistance:

  • Even an increase from the 3.2V of the 510 (and eGo and Riva) batteries to a true 3.7V (initially 4.2V freshly charged) – of the Absolute MaxX, Kr8 battery (with 510 adapter), or mod – would be noticable. A 5V or 6V mod would be incredibly more powerful.

  • An LR (low resistance) atomizer accomplishes the same power increase by decreasing the atomizer resistance, equivalent to 5V vaping with a regular 510 atty.
4. A fourth way is "outside the box": trying a different atomizer, e.g., the Joye 306 atty, Kr8 cartomizer, penstyle (e.g., DSE801) atty, or DSE901 atty. The feel of the vape is different in each of these, even at the same voltage. My personal favorite is the penstyle, although recently I also have been enjoying the 901 and I always have appreciated the convenience of Kr8 cartomizers (the newer of which generate excellent vapor). I've not yet tried the Joye 306, but have been seeing more and more mentions of it.
And these four ways can be combined, e.g., an LR 801 atomizer on a high mAh mod ... although I would take it one step at a time. A way to do that would be by getting a good 3.7V mod with fitting for the 510 atomizer and then purchasing an atomizer (and matching adapter) – regular and/or LR – of any/all of the others ... at whatever pace is right for you.
